Went for the Birthday dinner and it was awesome! Super busy place so make sure you get on time. Vibe is lit. Staff was amazing and very attentive. Super quick service. Food was phenomenal. Portions were worth for the amount paying. We ordered few sides and one main assuming sides will be smaller but they were generous and filling. We end up taking leftovers home as well. All the food we ordered were just amazing. 100% will be back. We ordered: Karaage Bao buns, Pepper squid, pork belly mee goreng, duck fat fried rice, matcha Tiramisu. One cocktail ordered can't remember name but it was awesome..

Where do we start. Amazing, delicious and quick service. Our server was so efficient and delightful. Although the night was expensive, we enjoyed the different dishes, tasty food and selection of drinks with dessert to boot.

Master Kong in Wellington was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. Huge shoutout to Ryan – he was awesome, super friendly, and made the experience even better. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend.

Went to Master Kong and had a disappointing experience. Despite the restaurant being less than half full, we were seated at a tiny high table where we could barely fit anything and couldn’t even open the menus properly. Our waiter asked if we were having a full dinner (this was at 6pm), which made me wonder if that’s unusual here. For starters, we ordered the Grilled Eggplant with miso dip, chilli crisp, and pickles – but it was terrible. The miso dip tasted like plain hummus, the whole dish was fridge-cold, and instead of pickles it came with raw kale, balsamic dressing, cherry tomatoes, and a few thin slices of cold eggplant. Easily one of the worst dishes I’ve had at a restaurant. The salt and pepper squid was fine, stock standard. However the maple syrup karaage chicken bao buns were really tasty – strong maple flavour and plenty of mayo. For our main, we got the Kung Pao Chicken. I liked that it came in a cast iron dish so it stayed hot, and the vegetables were good, but the chicken pieces were huge and difficult to cut with just a spoon and fork (no knives were provided). Combined with the tiny table, it made eating awkward. It was also loaded with sugar and I felt sick afterwards. Overall, the food was very hit and miss and at $94 it felt like a rip-off. Wouldn’t recommend.

Absolutely wonderful food and the taste is delicious Honestly I could eat so much of it. Although the food is nice I had a waiter argue with my friend about not having a physical copy of ID as she had 2 photographs of her ID and passport showing she was over 18. The fact was that it was fine if the man was just doing his job but the way he argued with us was rude and he was not nice about it. The man also didn't ask the whole time whether my friend wanted a non alcoholic drink!

We can't resist a good flambΓ© & the flambΓ© banana with latik coconut caramel & ice cream at Master Kong is perfectly decadent. We've been several times now - for drinks, small bites, lunch, dinner, with a group, as a couple - always knowing to expect a varied Asian-fusion menu & consistently good food. Pictured include the excellent Korean Fried Cauliflower, spicy jackfruit bao, creamy mushroom dumplings, chili oil edamame & refreshing Kong Lager by Fortune Favours.

We had a really nice waitress! But sadly the rest of the staff fell short..we all ordered dinner and even though we were not aware meals apparently only come out when they are ready , our whole table had finished eating , before we received ours ! We would have been waiting a good 40 min for our main. A sorry would have gone a long way but instead we got just an excuse. For this reason alone ... We will not Eat here again !

Master Kong is a great place to go for dinner. They have a good range of cocktails including taptails, which are a little cheaper but were really tasty. The small plates are actually pretty big and filling, we got 3 of them between two of us and that was plenty of food. It would be a great place to go with a larger group of people. I would definitely go back.
