Saffron Haveli should be one of the finest Indian restaurants in Wellington. Amazing food, very calm ambience, knowledgeable and polite staff also very attentive. It's a must try for sureee! We were a group of 10 on a Saturday night and this restaurant was fantastic. We had been once before a 5yrs ago under previous ownership. They were great with our children giving them balloons and keeping them busy. The food was delicious. We ordered many things from the shared meat platter, butter chicken, lamb Saag and a bunch of other dishes and different kinds of breads. They also gave us all complimentary ice cream. Despite the amazing reviews I read on google and the experience we had, I was sad in the face that we were there for 2 hours on a Saturday and only two other people came in ordering takeaways. I hope this restaurant gets more business and stays open.
Absolutely incredible! Saffron Haweli hands down has the BEST Indian food in Wellington! Every bite was packed with amazing flavors, and you can really taste the freshness and authenticity in every dish. The team was so welcoming and made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was vibrant and cozy — we didn’t want the night to end! If you love Indian food, you have to try Saffron Haweli. It’s simply unforgettable!
Saffron Haveli serves some of the best Indian food in Wellington! The chicken biryani is packed with flavour, and the butter chicken is rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. I recently had lunch with a group of friends at Saffron Haveli in Wellington, New Zealand. While the restaurant's ambiance was pleasant and the service was adequate, I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by the overall dining experience. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the variety of Karies we sampled. However, the taste failed to leave a lasting impression. The flavors were decent, but they didn't quite reach the heights one might expect from a restaurant of this caliber. On a positive note, the staff was attentive and courteous, ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, providing a comfortable setting for our gathering. In summary, Saffron Haveli offers a pleasant environment and satisfactory service. However, the food, particularly the Karies, left room for improvement.
The food at Saffron Haveli was amazing. The Wednesday 2 for 1 deal is great. My daughter and I both had great meals for less than one main at any other restaurant in Courtney Place.
Very tasty Indian cuisine, didn't have to wait too long for our orders and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Food was beautiful, particularly the chicken lollipop. That was BANGING. hell yeah. Prices were fair. BOOM. the bro who told Sean google reviews over yelp is a LEGEND. that guy had us.
This is one of those restaurants I lost my trust. Everytime I go there for take away they just charge 50 cents without the customer's consent for take away bag. 50 cents is not the concern but without informing the customer they should not charge a single cent and when I asked them for refund they started arguing. I must suggest everyone to check their bill before leaving the place. Also, I have noticed the quantity of chicken in chicken item is very less compare to the price.
Food is good but a little on the expensive side, could be considered given the prime location. There is a decent sized car park right besides which makes it really convenient. The restaurant has a very interesting and cozy setup with lots of paintings, cratfs and artefacts to admire. Staff members are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Customer service is good.
