“Just had the tastiest meal from here! I ordered 4 spring rolls and the satay chicken with extra meat. It was all ready in 10 minutes, and the staff was so friendly. I was given 2 spring rolls for free and the satay chicken was amazing. If you pay for extra meat, you really get a lot! Big portions and so, so tasty. So happy to have found this little place, was so pleased with food, keep up the great service!!”

“Went here for my mum's birthday today and was very impressed by the food. Up there with the best Cantonese style food in Wellington. Really varied menu with some unique dishes that I haven't seen on menus before. We ordered a lot of dishes and every dish was fresh and delicious. Highlights were the roast pork, beef with ginger and spring onion, stuffed eggplant and pepper, fried dumplings and the chicken stuffed with shrimp paste and topped with almonds. Can't wait to come back and try the soups.”

Best fish and Chips I've ever had. The staff are so lovely, food is fresh and delicious, made with love and they are honest with pricing, they are a genuinely honorable business owners who work as a family and make great kai. “We had an amazing time here! The food was incredible - decent prices, generous portions and beautiful well balanced flavours. The staff are really lovely and attentive, the atmosphere is welcoming and casual despite the high quality food. I couldn’t believe I’d actually ordered a salad and it was large, delicious, inventive and perfectly dressed. So many places give you a tiny bowl of leaves from a bag with some dry cabbage or carrot smothered in cheap oil - this was properly lovely, lush and fresh. The squid rings were delicious - though the sauce was a bit sweet for me. In general I would have loved some mayonnaise - this whole country insists on aioli… I’m not into garlic and love a proper, creamy fresh mayo, especially with chips. But in general this is the best meal I’ve had in Wellington. The lamb shank has a beautiful warmth to it - spiced with layers of fragrant flavours. We just had a fantastic time - so grateful to have discovered this spot and will definitely be back.”

“I had the summer rolls with prawns, the banh mi with chicken, and an iced coffee. Everything was wonderfully fresh and flavourful; the banh mi had just the right spicy kick; and the coffee was just what I needed on my Sunday lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. I will definitely return here.”

“Felt homesick and came here at 9pm. I was amazed because of the how close it is to the taste of Vietnam honestly. This place deserves more attention as the food and service are amazing. Not only that but the options here are crazily extensive. You get a lot of options to choose on the menu. They have some dishes I have never seen in other Vietnamese restaurants in New Zealand, like “mì hoành thánh”, or the dessert I got. The price is also reasonable. Definitely coming back again for the taste.”

“Superbly modern pub in a great location! The Hudson looks warm and appealing for the Wellington exterior and getting inside does not disappoint! This free house and stillhouse offers great New Zealand craft beer and an excellent range of international gins. This is all topped off with a secluded, upstairs whisky bar and excellent delicatessen. The Hudson is a revamped and modern take on a British gastro-pub. The craft beer list is kept so up to date they don’t bother with menus, instead projecting the current tap selection on the wall. For May’s Hopstock festival, the Hudson is hosting Liberty Brewing’s best beers and absolutely spoiling Wellingtonians. The gin bar has a spectacular range including Malfy’s delicious orange and grapefruit variants. Locals Denizen Gin also have high billing. If you’re unsure spin the $12 gin wheel and you’ll likely be treated to something new and interesting like The Botanist, Beefeater’s Pink Gin or a choice from the Handman range. Bar snacks are also delicious with curved meats carved and sliced in front of you. This is all topped off with a great wine list and superbly welcoming staff. The Hudson has a great atmosphere and is filled up when most pubs would be quiet. It’s a great option for Saturday afternoon drinks and cozy chats. Go here for a warm welcome and enjoy sampling your way through an excellent range of good drink!”

“I love Hawaiian burgers. This is by far the best Hawaiian burger I've had anywhere. I got it 10 minutes ago. It was huge and juicy, the pineapple fried, egg, bacon rocket I don't even know what else might have had hash brown but it was EXTREME! It was $20.50 but that's a good price considering the absolute complete snobbery of seatoun! Thank you.”

“What a Gem! Seen reviews so had to try it. I had Beef Short Ribs & our friend had Pork Belly the wife had Calamari Salad. I look for quality produce - value for money - cleanliness and great service. The food came very quickly and we were not disapointed it was really nice. My beef fell off the bone and the flavours were so good. The pork belly looked great and got thumbs up from our friend. I will be back to give the pork belly a try. This place is worth the drive from Wellington. Give it a go. They cater for large groups and have a great outdoor area. 5 stars guys. Well done”

“Wow it was great better service than we got last week at Logan Brown. The guys are fab and the food was authentic and delicious.Excellent meal thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Authentic Italian food. Far better atmosphere than the competition. I had the antipasto platter which was plenty for four and really tasty. Salmon and spinach fettuccine was fab and our guests had a steak and the NY meatballs. Definitely worth a return trip.”
