“Great hostel - stayed 3-4 times- easy check-in, friendly and helpful staff - good contact and communication. the facilities were clean and love the solid bunks with curtains - my first choice when in Whanganui-a-Tara! Tino pai!”
“I have stayed here over one month. Great place to stay no matter you choose bunk bed or twin room. Stuff is always helpful and kind to guests. Kitchen and bathroom are always clean and tidy. People who choose to live here are also polite and nice. Most of guests respect the quiet time. Definitely will come back if I need. If there are more female room would be better for me.”
“I recently stayed at Nomads Capital Backpackers – Wellington and I felt truly at home. From the moment I walked in, the warm welcome I received, especially from Isabel at reception, made all the difference. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and seemed genuinely invested in making my stay comfortable. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with cozy communal areas that feel inviting, a lovely courtyard, and a fully equipped kitchen that feels like a shared living room rather than a hostel. Everything is clean, well maintained, and the vibe is relaxed yet vibrant. Best of all, it’s affordable without compromising on quality or friendliness. Whether you're arriving solo or with friends, looking to explore Wellington on a budget or just want a welcoming place to rest, this is it. I wholeheartedly recommend Nomads Capital to anyone in Wellington, or anywhere in New Zealand really, who’s searching for budget accommodation with a friendly heart, warm smiles, and a truly homey atmosphere. Thank you, especially Isabel, for making this such a memorable stay!”
“We had a wonderful time here. It's a beautiful building, well set out. The hosts were enthusiastically helpful and the free breakfast was generous. I appreciated the evidence of sustainable practice, including the basket of free-range eggs during breakfast. My bed was surprisingly comfortable. It's a unique venue and a delight to stay in, but Noah and the other staff were the real stars of the experience, truly exceptional!”
“Best hall for students serious in achieving in a supportive environment”

““Rowena’s isn’t just a stay — it’s practically a national monument of happiness. The moment you arrive, the birds start chirping like they’re part of a personal welcome committee (seriously, I half expected them to form a choir and harmonize my name). Walking through Rowena’s feels like stepping into a live documentary where the narrator says, ‘And here we find the weary traveler, instantly healed by great food, kind people, and scenery so pretty it should be charging rent.’ Clean? Immaculate. Atmosphere? A holy mixture of laughter, peace, and the occasional bird who insists on auditioning for lead soloist. You don’t just stay at Rowena’s — you’re enshrined in it, like some lucky royal guest inside a monument built to joy. Even the manager Murray has been here lots and is always about to help. Rating: If this was a national monument, I’d apply for citizenship, but I am now a Kiwi””
“Accomodation is in very handy location. I had to visit Wellington for training. This is only accommodation available and economical. Person Ujager who looked after is very friendly and communicative.”
