I went to an opening of a Mฤori art expedition. It was an amazing experience. Supported with some outstanding poetry, beautiful waiata and kapahaka, and famous author and artists.

Pฤtaka Art + Museum is truly a standout cultural destination! This place is an absolute treasure, offering a beautifully curated and incredibly diverse range of exhibitions. I was particularly impressed by their strong focus on contemporary Mฤori and Pacific art and culture, which offers such rich and meaningful insights. The space itself is welcoming and thoughtfully designed, providing a peaceful environment to wander and absorb the art. The serene Japanese Garden is a lovely bonus, offering a tranquil spot for reflection. With rotating exhibitions, there is always something new and inspiring to discover. It's a fantastic resource for the community and well worth the drive for anyone visiting the Wellington region. Highly recommended for a truly enriching experience!

Okay, so I popped in here on a whim, and it was actually pretty chill. It's a good spot if you need a bit of quiet. They switch up the art stuff they have on display, so you'd have to check their website to see what's happening. They've got a little library inside, which is cool, and some shops selling art, crafts, and jewelry. Plus, they had some really nice jade pieces. There's also a restaurant if you get hungry, and the food was decent and not too expensive. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a nice place to wander around for a bit.

What a lovely warm and inviting place to visit. The pounamu display was interesting and well set out. Felt and tapestry so bright and colourful. Excellent jewellery for sale too. Coffee shop looked nice but didn't try.

Amazing place to visit! Love the vibe and the gallery set up. Nice big library and great it has a cafe onsite, which was very busy. A good sign of great kai. Great display of Ngatitoa history on at the moment! Definitely recommend to check it out.
