“Frank and the team always do a great and quick job for us. They have the expertise to solve tricky issues and do professional servicing for our car. It can be tricky to trust mechanics sometimes, as I knew I was getting charged for unnecessary repairs as part of WoFs at another well known spot on Thorndon Quay, but Plimmerton Motors provides an honest mechanic service in my experience. I have dropped the car in from Wellington to get my repairs, warrant and service done here for three years now, and they always deliver. Thanks guys. Keep it up!”

The owner assigned a knowledgeable, experienced mechanic to take a test drive with me. After the drive, they assured me there was nothing wrong with the car—and they didn’t charge me anything! “These folks were so good! I'd been to two other mechanics previously for a service/investigation and they'd do the service, start investigating the issue I'd flagged and then just go, meh, looks like a sensor issue. Pit Stop were the first people to actually look past the surface and try to find the fault. They found it and repaired it in the space of a day for a reasonable price. Yeah my car is old enough to drink in the USA but that doesn't mean its issues are just age-related. Cheers pit stop! You'll be my go-to from now on!”

“A very friendly store! My iPad, which I’ve used for years, wouldn’t turn on. Technician Lilian tested it and found that several parts were faulty. She gave me the best solution — to buy a second-hand iPad. It’s much newer than my old one, costs less than the repair, and even comes with a warranty. I highly recommend buying second-hand devices here, as they’re in great condition and very reasonably price.”

“My niece recommended I see these folks. My car developed an intermittent fault where the electrics just crapped out.. I did some simple stuff and was able to get car started etc.. Took car in first thing in the morning and explained situation and symptoms.. We developed a plan for a cost effective diagnostic. After making sure the car was fully 'HOT' returned where the team went to work and poked and prodded.. They could not reproduce the fault but did check more than I could do myself.. Am I pleased? INDEED I AM!! CAnnot ask for more than has been done.. Car may still crap out, however they are happy to help whilst I'm still in Upper Hutt.. Five Stars, Customer focused and provide as much info as they can about what they have found/done etc..”

I'm adding to this review because I was touched again by their super professionalism and friendliness. I went to their place late Friday afternoon urgently because of the alternator issue and told them that I would need to drive to Auckland Saturday. They figured out the issue instantly and tried very hard to source the parts for my car. “Took the car in for a minor issue and a wof. Ended up spending a fair bit to get the car up to WOF standard including fixing the horn I hadn't used since the last WOF. Got the car back after they said it was all fixed. Checked everything when I got home and horn didn't work. Contacted the team and they bent over backwards to get the issues resolved, ensure we weren't put out, and got everything sorted the next day. Great experience, good team, if you bring your car here they will look after you.”
