   5-Star Review | The Most Trustworthy Garage in Wellington – Newtown Garage I was returning from a road trip around the South Island when my Range Rover suddenly went into limp mode. Not knowing anyone in Wellington, I visited Newtown Garage hoping to get a quick scan and some advice. Mike, the owner, was incredibly friendly and professional. He immediately offered to scan my vehicle and patiently listened to my situation. The diagnostic showed a sensor issue. Since my car was still under warranty, he kindly suggested I ship it back to Auckland for dealer repair – and didn’t even charge me for the scan. The next day, I went back to Mike to ask whether it would be worth fixing the issue locally. He still gave me honest advice and suggested I go through the dealer to avoid unnecessary cost or risk. At that moment, I told him my biggest worry: If I ship the car back, I don’t know anyone in Wellington to help keep an eye on it. Without hesitation, Mike offered to look after my car for me. I was genuinely moved. He wasn’t just helping as a business owner – he treated me like a friend. In my experience, Mike is the most genuine, kind-hearted, and trustworthy mechanic I’ve ever met. He puts people first, offers real help, and never pushes for unnecessary work. If you ever need help in Wellington – go to Newtown Garage. Mike is someone you can truly trust
