“We had the absolute best tour of Wellington with Suzee! In reflecting on our day, it’s hard to believe how much we packed in, yet how unhurried and peaceful the day felt. Suzee poured a lot of time, thought and preparation (including an introductory/planning call well ahead of our trip!) into our day - so the result was well paced, tailored-to-our-interests and thorough tour. We saw everything we had hoped to see and more in this beautiful city - and had a delicious lunch, coffee and ice cream stop (local food that was tailored to gluten free and vegetarian requests) along the way. Suzee opted to bring us to places that were the locals-known-only version of the typical touristy highlights, so we felt like we saw an even better version of what most visitors get to see. Complete with historically significant sights, mountain look-outs, flora and fauna spotting, trendy/cultural highlights and more, Suzee’s tour covered every beautiful facet of Wellington. Suzee was honest, kind, knowledgeable, comfortable and genuinely welcoming to her hometown. AND she got us back well ahead of sail away time! Your choice to spend a day with her will be an absolute highlight of your trip and you’ll be very glad to have chosen a tour with her over any other group/tour-ship operator. “We were met by our tour guide, Anna, in the lobby of the hotel. We are a family of 4 and had a short time in the city of Auckland and wanted to make sure we saw the highlights and learned about the history, culture, food, etc. We immediately hit it off with Anna. She is so personable and relatable! After we headed out — Anna had a great tempo for our tour, leaving time for questions and exploration. Our tour was booked as a 3-hour private sightseeing walk. She shared the historical sights of the harbor, the key stories and historical activities that have shaped Auckland to be what it is today, and what we all appreciated the most were the things she pointed out to see that we never would have noticed ourselves while out exploring. There was a planned stop at two of the favorite local spots to sample coffee and chocolates which gave a nice rest break and time for reflection and discussion at what we had already seen and what we were about to see. The tour was a mix of the harbor, the town, history, culture— it was not strenuous yet still a good pace and very enjoyable. Highly recommend!!”

We had so much fun and Phil was so knowledgeable, and took us to a place with amazing food (see pic below). “Eddie gave us an excellent, informative, and fun tour of Auckland on very comfortable and easy to ride bikes. It was a glorious day and the sights were stunning. Cycling is such a great way to see a place - you get a sense of scale that other tours don't give you. I couldn't recommend this company or the Inner Loop tour highly enough - don't miss it if you're in Auckland.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful Lord of the Rings day tour with Kaewa Tours and can’t recommend it enough! From the very first moment, we felt completely at ease with Tom. He does an amazing job and has a great ability to adapt to his guests, making the whole experience feel very personal and relaxed. On our private tour, Tom showed us all the important Lord of the Rings filming locations in and around Wellington, sharing interesting background information and stories along the way. We felt comfortable throughout the entire drive, and all the conversations with Tom were genuinely fun and enjoyable. A particularly lovely touch was that Tom also took photos of us. When traveling as a couple, you often end up with less-than-ideal selfies, so it meant a lot to us to come home with beautiful photos where we are actually both in them. These pictures are now wonderful memories of an already perfect day. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience full of amazing locations, great vibes, and Middle-earth magic. “At the end of 2023 I decided to challenge myself to run the London Marathon in 2024. I went through marathon tours as I had heard good things and I liked the fact that I would get to meet likeminded people as part of this experience as this was my first marathon. The tour group was amazing, I felt so supported and was so grateful to Paul and Matt and the other members of the tour who gave me advice and who celebrated with me when I finished. Some of us have gone on to remain friends after the tour and are already talking about our next adventure. On the day of the marathon it was great to be able to go together in a bus to get start line and even though we had to wait in the cold I was happy to be at the start line in plenty of time and not to have to worry about getting there on the tube. The location of the hotel was great for being central to so many things you want to do but also so grateful for how close it was to the finish line. I have never been so happy to see my hotel room as I was that day. The breakfasts were a great way to start the day and to also catch up with the others as to their plans or get advice. The marathon itself is an experience I will never forget, having so many strangers cheer you on and give advice and generally want you to do well is quite hard to explain and not just at the end but through the whole 42.2kms. Getting to run through the streets of London and over Tower Bridge was a surreal experience and one I will never forget. I am not going to lie running the marathon was hard physically and mentally and I hit the wall a few times but looking around at the other competitors and seeing the support they had and my own determination was enough to get me to the finish line. I loved being in London and being so central to everything meant I got to experience all my favourite parts - Buckingham Palace, Harrods, London Eye, Hyde Park and St James Park. The support that the marathon tours team gave me both leading up to the event and after was amazing. Knowing that they were only an email or call away was great. I am already planning on doing New York in 2025 and am planning on booking through Marathon Tours. Thank you for the experience, the memories and the friendships . April 2024 has gone down in my history as one of my most memorable moments and it was because of marathon tours that I was able to do this. Vanessa”
