Unfortunately we picked a windy day! Our guide Dan was fabulous and very informative. He took us on an alternative route to Browns Island where he provided hot drinks before the hike and Brownies at the Trigg point. I would highly recommend this tour, my first experience of kayaking out at sea. Dan made us feel at ease and was very supportive, thank you.

Went on the sunset kayak to Rangitoto Island led by Tony. Had a brilliant time kayaking over to the island, with a delicious BBQ before hiking up to the summit for sunset. Tony gave interesting information regarding the volcanic geology of the island and the progression of fauna as we walked up to the summit. We even had the treat of brownies while watching the sunset to fuel the kayak back guided by the moonlight and stars. Very active afternoon and evening - would highlight this tour requires a good level of fitness involving a 5km kayak (approx 1 hour) each way and 5km round hike to the summit (approx 1.5 hours) and does finish late so would recommend having a relaxed morning before!

Marco was a great guide! Marco was super knowledgeable about the flora and wildlife and was happy to answer all of our questions about this beautiful country. My husband and I were very lucky and joined a small group of four for the Rangitoto sunset paddle. We had time to see the lava caves in addition to hiking to the summit of Rangitoto. We also saw bioluminescence on our paddle back! Highly recommend this tour and suggest requesting Marco.

Fantastic sunset kayak to Rangitoto Island. The wind was high but our guide Daniel who is a very experienced seaman, was extremely communicative about our options at every stage. I felt confident we were safe at all times, even as we tackled a fairly challenging (because of the wind) paddle from the mainland to the island. Daniel was in full control of the situation while ensuring everyone was comfortable and smiling. Having reached there, had a fantastic walk followed by a steak dinner! That was really quite a lux touch for a kayaking trip dinner. And then sunset and lights over the city (with a few fireworks!)

I had the privilege of surprising my Singaporean friends with the Auckland Sea Kayaks City Lights Tour. Marco was a responsible and supportive main instructor, Ben’s easygoing and charismatic personality brought great vibes, and Tony’s wisdom and expertise in kayaking ensured we were in great hands. It was a truly memorable experience for all of us!

Fun trip across to Rangitoto Island with basically the whole island to ourselves. Amazing views of Auckland and great catered food. Kayaked back in the dark but safety was a priority with lights and radio. Can’t wait to kayak around Auckland some more!

Eric: barbecue king, kayak extraordinaire, and all round top guy. Battling through the storms with a mouthful of seawater was a trip highlight and a great memory. He even dropped us off near the white lady afterwards. Thank you

Me and two friends did the Rangitoto sunset tour and over all it was a really good experience, nice and easy, very well explained and the views were awesome too! The communication before and during the tour was awesome, so much so we are contemplating doing another one with them and as a result I would definitely recommend them.

The Irish mist guide "Rosie" took us all the way to Rangitoto island. Her skipper skills were that of an impeccable style, she was not only professional but also very knowledgeable about the island, the ocean and the stars. What an almost perfect day, or maybe it was just perfect. Once arrived on the island we had a lovely BBQ followed with a 50 min hike to the top. On the top we were treated with spectacular views of the city & an extra treat, dessert from Rosie. I would recommend this to all trying to live their life to the fullest. And if you have Rosie as a guide you are in for a treat. Rock on Auckland Sea Kayaks.

I highly recommend Auckland Sea Kayaks. The trip was well organised and very safe for absolute beginners. The views were breathtaking, food was delicious, the sunset on the way back was super special. An awesome day!
