“Wonderful outing and great atmosphere. Big comfy seats. Disappointed they didn’t have chocolate nut ice creams”
“Newly refurbished and it looks like a classical cinema. They also have a burger and shake bar on top of the escalators. What was nice was that they deliver some items (milkshake in my case) to you in the theater. Nice and clean and really comfy seats.”
“I like that Westgate Cinemas offers half price Tuesday tickets, especially since movie prices keep climbing. Most of the time I’m fine waiting for Tuesday instead of paying full price on release day, so it makes going to the movies more affordable and enjoyable. The cinema is always clean, the staff are friendly, and it’s a solid place to catch a film without breaking the bank.”
“Going to the movies in my opinion is a special treat, and it helps when the cinema has everything you need for a great time. Hoyts Wairau is very convenient located, and has plenty of parking which makes a huge difference, so you're not stressed before the film looking for a park. Once inside, the comfort continues with plush, comfortable seating that lets you sink in and put your feet up. No cinema trip is complete without snacks, and a good variety ensures there's something for everyone, from classic popcorn to more gourmet options.”
“Saw Avatar Fire and Ash in 3D yesterday, great movie with really nice visuals. Also forgot to take my phone with me when I left the cinema room, but luckily someone gave it to the cinema staff and it was kept safe until the following day. Not sure how to pass on my thanks to the guy who handed my phone in so if he ever comes across this review, thanks a lot for giving my phone to the staff, you're awesome.”
“Great cinema in the heart of Mission bay.. paid parking available behind the restaurants and cinema block. Service is friendly and relaxed. Grab a glass of your fav tipple before settling in for your choice of viewing. Thumbs up all the way!”
“Went here for the first time to see Wake Up Dead Man and it was a very nice experience. Although the layout made it feel a bit like a bingo parlour upon first entry, the amount of people gathered here gave the venue a much livelier feel than other local theatres, and the screens and audio quality were top notch. It had more of a community vibe than I was expecting and I think we’ll frequent this cinema more often than not in the future.”
“We had eggs and calamari. The eggs had nice rosti but could have been a little runnier. The portion size was good. Calamari was tender. Chips were good. Tiramasu and brownie were very good. Nice, clean space with plenty of room. Family friendly. Service was pleasant. Would recommend for a reliable, nice, chilled weekend brunch.”
“Never a problem at the Embassy It's improved since I moved to Whangnui nine years ago. They have a great variety of films and the international film festivals are always good value.”
“What an awesome facility and super friendly staff.”
“Great shopping centre, undercover parking always has a spare park. Bathrooms kept very clean. Spacious and airy. Good variety of eating places”
“Thank you to the lovely young girls who handed my car keys in that I had left in the bathroom at the cinema and handed into the helpful staff.”
“the interior is so cool but i kinda got mixed up with the escalators and the stairs were kinda weird for leading into a bunch of different stores like the back of daiso. very spacious area but it feels lonely without a massive amount of people. i hope more ppl will visit this place so i can follow the crowd if i need to get out of the building.”
“This boutique cinema I highly recommend for films from other countries that are insightful and memorable. The Documentary State Organs was official contender for 97th Oscars, and win 42 international accolades. It screened August 2025 at Rialto cinema, Newmarket. Transplant human soul collective theme is "want too much another". It is excruciatingly painful for donors, a lot of the time even more so than donor recipients. Liver organ is "regeneration" which can be controlled by being immersed in the Arts- books, film, music, acting. Kidney organs is "marriage ability" which takes a lot of control to manifest the "same right yoke" (Christian term for marriage husband and wife equality). The book Soulmates by Author Rita Roger's is my number one book to describe what everyone has, that one truest love above all, that no one can replace or understand same way. Next year a German Doctor will find me, as he appears in my dreams vividly this year, repeatedly even astral sex lol. Anyway, so this movie State Organs is a documentary to be taken most seriously. I'm a world-ranking University of Auckland Arts graduate in history and media that included: Grades A for Chinese Contemporary Media Grade B plus for Screening Hong Kong Grade B plus Media Studies Grade B for Health Systems This documentary is powerful, and exposes China's state sanctioned billion dollar transplant industry which is forced organ harvesting and brutal prosecution of Falun Gong spiritual believers. Falun Gong protest on Queen street whilst exercising in Tai Chi groups. Transplant abuse even involves tourism to China for this purpose. In New Zealand, there are complimentary alternative healers that can work alongside a Doctor which is what University taught to avoid terminal diseases/conditions. TCM Chinese acupuncture and masseuse on K Road is one good recommendation, as well as colon care in Morningside with colonic hydrotherapy and naturopaths also available. "Human need to poop" is panda animal soul collective theme, which is China's national animal. There is a Facebook group called Kiwis Against Forced Organ Harvesting's that people can also join. This boutique cinema has comfortable seats, tidy, clean with boutique cafe, good for special occasions of film screenings. Highly recommend.”

“Go there just for a coffee, wine, beer and some RD's also light meals, enjoy a movie, seating is extremely comfortable. The facilities are clean and have a very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy, as I have done. Cheers”
“The service was amazing. The popcorn was very good and came in generous portions, and the same goes for the drinks. They also have a great selection of movies.”
“Love my weekly car wash! Owners accommodating and very friendly. Keep up the great work Ben & Co”
“The cinema has convenient parking, which makes it easy to arrive without stress. The seating is very comfortable with good spacing and legroom. The screen quality is excellent — bright, clear, and sharp. The sound system is powerful and well-balanced, making the movie experience truly immersive.””
“There is a wide choice of movies here at Event Cinemas Chartwell. Popcorn and a choice of ice creams plus a lot of yum things sweet can be bought here to eat with the movie. I like the chairs that are so comfortable and can be adjusted to ones comfort. The screens are huge and the sound of the movie is incredible. Parking is a breeze and free. Located on the first floor you can use the escalator or a lift to get to the cinemas. This is a great outing for the whole family. Give it a go. You won't be disappointed.”
“Comfy seats and theatre warm. Ques long and could have done with more staff.”

“Went Lux Cinema OMG amazing experience. Such an extravagant way to experience going to see a movie. Saw Avatar 3D. We sat in big lazy boy sitting that vibrated with sound, Adult drinks available. Ordered hot food before the movie that was bought in half way through the movie very yummy. Got a complimentary soft drink and popcorn. What you pay is definitely worth every cent.
