“I am a regular of your store who also visited on the eve of lockdown. As usual your staff were friendly, courteous and encouraging of the lovely feeling of camaraderie that existed among shoppers. You have wonderful staff, thank you”
“Awesome location as we were going to the Theatre. Room great. Nice big bed which was extremely comfortable”
“Great place to stay if visiting Napier city as everything is within comfortable walking distance. The rooms were beautifully cleaned and very comfortable beds. Highly recommend.”
“This backpacker has the MOST comfy bed ever. It comes with a real duvet, a proper firm pillow and a 20 cm thick mattress. The rest of the place is great, with a nice pool table in the super spacious relax area The common rooms are just a little bit chill in winter but the sphere is super warm”
“Nice quiet room, bed comfy. Some of the best night's sleep away from home in a long time. Clean & tidy. Restaurant was great too & price very reasonable. Thank you.”
On the plate at Portofino Restaurant, the idea is grill-focused and well executed. Sides support without crowding the star. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Good value shows in the serve sizes.
“Great place for a coffee! Thanks for all the information and the nice talk.”
“We loved our stay here! The guesthouse has a welcoming, friendly and homely feel. The room was spacious and the beds were comfy. Breakfast was great too; our toddler was very excited by all the breakfast options. Lovely owners. Thank you Sahara!”
“I stayed here for 13 nights in a Superior King Room on the 4th floor. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The location is excellent — right in the heart of the city and just a short walk from The Octagon. Many major attractions, restaurants, pubs, banks, and a Woolworths are nearby. There are also around five Indian restaurants within walking distance, so it’s easy to find Indian lunch or dinner options. The room was spacious, quiet, and carpeted, with a king-size bed, two chairs, a table, and a bathroom with a bathtub. There was also a small kitchen area with a kettle, refrigerator, a few cutlery items, and complimentary tea, coffee, cookies, and milk provided daily. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of wardrobe space. Each room had an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, alarm clock, and a TV with around 22 channels (no Netflix or Amazon Prime). A heating pump and a separate fan were also available, which was very convenient. The room was cleaned daily, and towels were changed on alternate days. Breakfast was tasty and started at 6:30 am on weekdays and 7:00 am on weekends. I am vegetarian and found a few good vegetarian options. The breakfast spread included juices, breads, tea, coffee, hash browns, noodles, milk, curd, cornflakes, pancakes, muffins, croissants, and many more items. Breakfast was included in my booking; otherwise, it costs around $30 per person. I didn’t opt for lunch or dinner, but room service is available if needed. • Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and has good speed. • Laundry facilities are available; it costs $5 per cloth for washing and drying. • Elevator is available and works smoothly. • Car parking is available at $25 per night, but you can also find free parking nearby. • Check-in and check-out were smooth, quick, and hassle-free. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and available 24/7. They were always ready to assist with any request. A wonderful stay overall — perfect location, comfortable rooms, tasty breakfast, and great service. Highly recommended for families and anyone visiting Dunedin for a short or long stay.”
“A real time experience of hospitality from the front office to check in was a smooth ride . Very helpful, smiling faces and great attitude at work . Special thanks to Keila , Vennessa & Team Victoria Hotel Dunedin .”
“Totally awesome place to enjoy. The food was so delicious, good portion size and worth every penny. The service was good. Overall it was one of the best experience.”
“Comfortable rooms, beds, and pillows. The staff are really helpful. We'd happily stay there again.”
The kitchen at Brew Bar takes a kebab and pita path and lets the food speak. Eggs land on point and toast stays crisp. Sauces stay in check and wraps hold together. Service stays present without fuss....
The Black Dog Kitchen & Bar keeps things classic fish-and-chips and focused on flavour. A coastal backdrop rounds out the stop. Grill work shows a clean sear and rested meats. Sweets lean classic and not overly rich.
“The staff are very friendly and approachable. They have a lovely selection of clothing at a reasonable price. I love this shop ☺️”
“I went for an ultrasound and X-ray (cervical spine) today. The whole experience was smooth and quick. All the staff were really nice and professional. The person who did my ultrasound and the one who took my neck X-ray were both very skilled and made me feel comfortable throughout.”
“I really appreciate the way this practice works. The doctors take a very holistic approach, looking at the whole picture instead of just one symptom. They don’t rush through appointments and actually take the time to listen and understand your concerns. It feels like they genuinely care about your health and want to find the best solution for you. I left feeling heard, supported and confident about the next steps. — Jagdev & family”
“Stayed here couple nights, nice clean bedrooms with own large shower and toilet. Got fridge microwave and toaster in the room along with TV, the host is nice, and quiet. I do recommend and if I back again to chch I'll rebook here.”
“Very helpful staff Dr terance de silva a brilliant doctor”
“This will be my 1st google review & possibly my last (famous last words). EMC have had off days, (more so in earlier earlier times) but, days that matter far outweigh these. I think people are quick to be sensitive & forget to consider context & give grace. I can say that because I've been enrolled with EMC for a number of years. The medical advice I've recieved from Dr Steinberg and Dr Raj has steered me in good direction over the years. Bernadine is always busy, but genuine & proactive in her role. I have always appreciated that she acknowledges me by name, asks about my children by name and remembers things about them. I've been in the waiting room and seen her like that with many others. There was a time when the person on the front desk would ask offensive questions and never remember my name. Bernadine was professionally subtle in letting me know that I was 'seen' and known without embarassing her colleague. Dr Andrea Steinberg and Dr Jyoti Raj are my Drs but I've seen nearly everyone on staff at one time or another. My kids usually see the Henleys or Dr Paul Norton and they're so good with the kids. Melinda, Kerry & Felicity are amazing. They seem to love what they do and are personable as well as knowledgable. I appreciate that I am heard, that my concerns are validated (esp re the kids. When we discovered 2 of my kids had an allergy, I was given independant medical advice that would have been devastating had EMC not been involved. Andrea acted quickly, commanded what she needed and I witnessed the centre go from a homely GP Practise to an ER Dept on speed! All hands on deck!) I think it's hilarious that I can leave EMC, feeling like I just gained the smarts to specialise in an area of medicine. Love that.”
“Owners are awesome here. Such lovely and kind ladies. Beef Benedict burger in the morning always does the trick - hot and so tasty. Awesome hot food and lunch selection, a must visit”
“On the month of the 12/2020 I went to Ora Toa Takapuwahia Medical centre for medical assistance. I was very pleased with the support that was given to me. The staff were very knowledgeable and they were able to provide me with the support and care that I needed. Thank you.”
“Honestly, I don’t understand the previous review. We enjoyed our stay. The lady at the reception was lovely, everything was clean and there were heaps of other backpackers (also some workers, but they were nice as well). Nice location as well. I would definitely come back.”

“Fantastic service. I came with my daughter in a wheel chair, but could not get the chair into the bathroom. They upgraded me no charge to a bigger unit where the bathroom door was wider. Could not have been more helpful. :)”
