Went for birthday lunch and was not disappointed. Ordered a roast. Came out on large oval plate and had so many roast vegetables and was so very tasty. Got to say it's one of the best roast meals I've ever had in my 40 or so years of dining out. Superb.
Had a recent visit to celebrate my sisters 70th birthday. Very enjoyable night. I only took 1 mark off the food as one piece of my Blue Cod was over cooked making it dry.
We had a lovely simple anniversary dinner here. The food was delicious. I was particularly impressed when the chef/cook came to our table to confirm my dietary requirements. Excellent service. We'll be back!!!
I'm embaressed to admit this but I gave this place a fourth, yes fourth chance after 3 times recieving missing meals, wrong meals, below standard food, or waiting over an hour. Over the last few years we've spent kids birthday family gatherings, and smaller family dinners. It's been getting worse. Tonight was sadly the end of the line. Being rugby night I expected it to be busy. But to make the youngest kids wait on food for over an hour, then serve several adults whilst the children still waited on food, then to leave half the table hungry watching others eat, to finally, leaving 3 of us without food until the others were finished and I had to ask where our meals were, to then STILL watching the waitress serve tables food from the kitchen instead of our missing meals despite them recieving meals we ordered, to finally, canceling my meal. As I went up to cancel my meal, the young waitress said she has my meal, I looked at it, and said don't bother, as the fish was thrown on the plate straight from the fryer in a puddle of soggy batter, in a rush to get our "forgotten" meals. After I canceled my meal we waited another half hour on kids sundaes. Prior to meals, our drink order was taken and forgotten. The older lady at the bar was miserable and unfriendly to my young niece. The young waitress is forgetful and untrained in customer service and extremely out of her depth with looking after tables and has barely any help if any staff on. My husband's steak was ordered medium rare and served to him blue, he was too hungry to send back but couldn't eat it. My best friends steak was ordered medium and served well done. Just awful. If you're too overrun to accommodate guests, don't take their bookings to make money it's simply that simple! There is NO excuse for any of this. Just turn ppl away rather than take their money for rubbish food and service!!!!!!!!! Lost a few of us and I hope someone reads this to train staff better and sort the cooks out to up their game also. So many food inconsistencies, after seeing the soggy oily small fish portion trying to be served to me for $35 I saw a huge portion that looked cooked well being served to another table. Some very small meals at our table steak sizes different etc.
Totally awesome place to enjoy. The food was so delicious, good portion size and worth every penny. The service was good. Overall it was one of the best experience.
We have been to Cableways many times in the past and the food was excellent. Unfortunately today of four meals , three were in one word disgusting. The crumbed sole fillet was incinerated, probably because the fish was so thin. Two schnitzel meals were also over cooked and chewy so we could not break it down with our teeth .The only meal palatable was the chicken burger . I relayed this to the lovely waitress and showed the her the schnitzel that was going home to feed our dog. She apologised and was going to pass on our disappointment. Maybe you have changed your butcher or was it was cut incorrectly? Sadly we will not be returning
I have been here so many times, its really good restaurant I cant understand people give it 3 stars : /. 10 out of 10. Edited: The food was salty very very salty! Probably used a lot of soy sauce, very little amount of veg. Food is not good as before. Probably won’t come back again. 2 stars.
Kids loved the cable car. The young lady working was so friendly, we had quite a large group and just walked in on a Saturday for lunch and she moved some tables around to accommodate us. The food came out pretty quickly and everyone in our party was very happy with their meals. Prices and serving sizes are very reasonable as well. Would definitely recommend.
Chicken n bacon salad......chicken was very dry and over cooked as you can see in the photo.....lacked dressing so salad was dry too ....there was a slight drizzle ..good concept just needs to be tested a bit more ....
Absolutely amazing. This was a lunch. Cant fault this place or menu at all. Price was great , service was good , Absolutely delicious. This is our new local 100%. Thank you cableways.
