   Twice in a period of two weeks I have been a support person for someone struggling. Twice the behavior of staff members has been horrid. Rude Aid worker when help was requested IV bag was just about empty. Dismissive Gate Keeping by one reception staff member. The only positive things I can say is the lady security guard goes above the call of duty and the doctor treated the person I was supporting with respect. The long wait times we are talking 2 plus hours in some cases is getting bad. Shame as many years ago never had this issue now the waiting rooms packed and dont expect to park close to the emergency room!

   This is the smallest and most under resourced emergency department I’ve encountered. There are significant staff shortages(drs). The waiting area has very limited seating, making it uncomfortable and inadequate especially during peak times. Wait times on a busy night must be extreme. Most concerning is that triage assessments are conducted in the waiting room, offering no proper clinical setup or privacy. The check-up area is incredibly cramped, staff are working in a squeezed space with just three chairs and a bed. It’s clearly not fit for purpose. That said, the nurses and reception staff were genuinely great, attentive, professional, and clearly doing their best under pressure. The dedication of this team is evident, and they deserve far better working conditions. This community and its frontline staff deserve a proper upgrade: a safe, efficient, and well-resourced emergency department. Even though I didn’t get to see a doctor,the wait times for a paediatrician were simply too long. (26/07-6pm)

From the reception staff, nurses, orderlies, to the medical and surgical teams — every single person I encountered was kind, professional, and supportive.    Was ok, chaotic. Was very confusing. They would bring u in back, then set you our front several times. Not cleaning the beds or if you were to set in one of chairs never wiped them down. Some of staff did not have masks on and did not see a reason on lanyard.

   My partner sustained a blunt injury to her left shin and could not even stand up. She was given painkillers after registering at the reception. Then we waited 4 hours while she’s still in pain and people that came after us were been seen and walking out. I went through to ask the Nurse how long it was going to take for my partner to be seen by a doctor and they could not give me a rough time estimate or how many patients are infront of her. They told us that there are people that are coming in with more serious conditions, so does that mean our position in the queue just keeps dropping??? I asked if we could get a x-ray for her just to see if there’s any damage to her bones and if not we can just leave. That got denied as we HAVE to see a doctor before getting a x-ray done. I feel so lost here because we aren’t from the area and have no idea where else we could go.
