Exceptional service from the staff member on reception during my visit. It's an old building which makes some of the hostel features unique, for example my room had a balcony and was behind a huge door at the end of the corridor. Lockers are available in the corridors (bring your own padlock). Overall enjoyable stay, cleanliness was good.

Concierge is very friendly and attentive. Room was clean and very comfy bed. Hostel has been renovated and has a kitchen, chill out room with couches and a pool table (It is a very old and worn table and cues) and many showers and toilets. Great location. And very close to the hot pools and main town.

Stayed 3 nights. The place was okay but not great. Rooms were quite cold and the kitchen wasn’t very clean, though still usable. Overall acceptable, but I wouldn’t stay longer than a few days.

This backpacker has the MOST comfy bed ever. It comes with a real duvet, a proper firm pillow and a 20 cm thick mattress. The rest of the place is great, with a nice pool table in the super spacious relax area The common rooms are just a little bit chill in winter but the sphere is super warm

Really lovely hostel. Very friendly welcome and lovely service throughout time we were there. Kitchen was good and had everything you needed. Breakfast was so lovely - freshly made bread and scrolls with fruits, yogurts and cereals. Showers and bathroom were decent. Rooms were nice, needed a much stronger light though. The building is quite old and everything feels a bit dated but that's just personal preference. Overall lovely stay in a great location - would definitely come back.

Two friends, three nights, one concert. Friendly, helpful, accommodating staff. Quieter than we expected a hostel to be. Just worth it.

We have absolutely loved our time staying at Toad Hall it's one of the most friendly welcoming places I have ever stayed and is like being part of a big family. The free breakfast is absolutely amazing and so yummy. I can't speak highly enough of our time at Toad Hall and so very well positioned to everything.

Toad Hill was very laid back & friendly staff & regular guests. The rooms are what you pay for being a hostel but can say I slept well & I was comfortable. Toad Hill upstairs has a community dinning room to accommodate for a number of guests to sit back and relax, read a book or watch tv & a kitchen big enough to host a cook off in. A very modern old house with high ceilings, & facilities. The downstairs department has the comfort of free commercial breakfast attached to your room fee, with free coffee, tea & Milo, biscuits, fresh baked bread & cake. There is also a library of books, a pool table, a ping pong table, a piano, and a television. The owners are very lovely & great with having kids booked in to stay as well with a little court yard & a basketball hoop. Will definitely come again.

Great location right in the CBD but with easy street parking nearby. Really friendly service and nice free breakfast with baked goods, cereal and canned fruit. The kitchen is well-stocked and clean. It appears that they’re in the process of updating the rooms and bathrooms — some looked more updated than others. There is a music venue next door, and it can be quite loud when there’s a concert, though none of the shows went too late. Overall, a comfortable stay!
