“We found ourselves with an hour to spare while our car was being serviced and on recommendation, went to the Crate & Barrel for breakfast. We were made very welcome on entering and were seated next to the fire. While our breakfasts were being cooked, we were given a guided tour to look at the extensive memorabilia. Wow!! The sports section was impressive as was the musical instruments as wall art and many other collections. Food was delicious and plentiful, coffee superb and service impeccable. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.”
“Absolutely scrumptious breakfast! We’ve been touring the South Island for almost 2 weeks and this has been one of the most divine breakfasts we have had. Great prices too for the sizes.”
“First time here and OMG it's incredible. Had the eggs benedict with hash browns and hot salmon and it was the best I've had in a very long time. A decent amount of salmon compared to other places. The service was great. They took my order with a friendly manor and a service with a smile when delivering my meals. Lovely vibe in the space. Lots of seating and lovely open space.”
“Consistently the best supermarket coffee beans producing a richer, better tasting coffee shot. I came here to leave a glowing review after I made yet another great coffee from Hummingbird OOMPH! beans. I also enjoy the Nectar blend. The beans always seem to be fresh out of the packet and I suspect the foil packaging is better than other supermarket brands. Really impressed with this coffee.”
“My second time and I came back to order the same drink: their mocha is so good! Plenty of space to sit and relax”
“We loved the atmosphere at Child Sister - simple and charming. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. Our favorites were the kimchi rice omelette and the honey butter waffle fries. The coffee was good too. We’ll definitely be back.”
“Very nice atmosphere and breakfast burger is an awesome treat!”
“Saturdays Cafe is a hidden gem! Tucked away by He Puna Taimoana Hot Pools, it's New Brighton's best kept secret! A matcha lovers dream. I had the Iced Strawberry Matcha and Matcha French Toast. Both had very good, strong matcha flavours in them. The French Toast had dollops of matcha cream cheese, chocolate, and caramel sauces, making it a very sweet treat. Yum! The cutest little cafe. Beautiful views of the New Brighton Pier. I absolutely love the decor. Staff were so lovely and provided a warm atmosphere.”
“The food here is incredible!! I had the tastiest cooked breakfast ever! The staff were so friendly and all smiling. The retro decor and general feel of the place is inviting and comfortable. Definitely recommend this little hideaway spot!”
“Tutto Bene delivers a fantastic dining experience with authentic Italian flavors and warm, attentive service. The pasta is freshly made, the sauces are rich and flavorful, and the wood-fired pizzas are a standout—crispy, light, and generously topped. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, making it perfect for both a casual night out and a special occasion. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, adding to the overall excellent experience. Highly recommend the tiramisu to end on a high note. A must-visit spot for Italian food lovers!”
“Fantastic restaurant — one of the best Indian places around! Tried their chicken tikka masala and sahi paneer , both were bursting with flavour. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend Indian Ocean for anyone who loves authentic, high-quality Indian food.”
“Hands down the best food I have had in all of New Zealand. I went to Spice Paragon with zero expectations as most Thai food in Christchurch is quite average. The prices were a bit much for me at first glance, as I often run on tight budget. Most of the time I will argue that expensive food is not worth it past a certain price point, but that argument failed here. The food arrived within 10 min of ordering and was absolutely stunning visually. We ordered the Pad Thai and a beef dish with a red curry sauce (I can't remember the name) that the waitress recommended. The Pad Thai was delicious, but the beef dish stole the show. The meat was tender, full of flavor, and the sauce it was bathed in was delectable. Portion sizes were large. The waitstaff was exceptionally friendly and attentive for New Zealand standards. The evening atmosphere would make this restaurant a great spot for a date, or a nice dinner with friends and family. If you are looking for a nice dinner spot with bold flavors in Christchurch, this is the place!”
“Enjoyed my stay here and great food!!”
“I had high tea. The tea itself was fantastic. The pastries and sandwiches were excellent. The staff was very attentive, maybe even over so in the beginning. And then it was hard to find someone when it was time to pay the bill. My one suggestion is that there's no way to take your tea bag out of the pot. Nothing to take it out with and no place to put it. And I don't always like my tea really strong, depending on what type of tea I get. They would also elevate the experience if they had some type of table cover.”
“Unfortunately, there wasn't time to take photos, but if you have time, stop by and try their dishes. They are great tasting, portion size, and quality/price ratio. If it's Saturday night, you might have to wait 15/20 minutes, but it's worth it! They also have highchairs and baskets with toys (which was very useful for our little one).”
“I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Styx & Stone. From start to finish, everything was impeccable. For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana — and it was delightful. Perfectly cooked, tender chicken breast, coated in a crisp, golden crumb, smothered in rich, tangy tomato sauce, and topped with beautifully melted cheese. Every bite was pure comfort and flavor. For dessert, I couldn’t resist the affogato — and it did not disappoint. The balance of smooth, creamy vanilla ice cream and bold, aromatic espresso was heavenly. It’s the kind of simple yet luxurious treat that ends a meal on the perfect note. To accompany it all, I had an iced latte which was perfectly balanced: strong, smooth coffee with just the right touch of milk — refreshing and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy yet modern. Highly recommend Styx & Stone for anyone looking for an effortlessly enjoyable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!”
“Lovely food, good price. Great size!”
“Hannah was exceptional, she was super friendly and helpful! Kids loved her, we will definitely be back :)”
“Hands down the best pub feed I’ve ever had, got the beef cheeks, massive serving and can’t fault a single part of the food, beer or experience. Cheers team will be back”
“What can I say, the best food I've had in ages. Flavours were just amazing. Service and people there are great. Highly recommend going here. We had the Chicken Ragout, Cheesey Garlic Pizza, and Lamb Meatballs. Delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Great pub for a meet-up with mates & friendly staff to boot. Stopped in for a "chinwag" & beer last week, happened to be 'happy hour' which was a bonus & helped the words flow. Comfortable warm venue centrally located in Lincoln”
“We dropped in for a feed but it was chocks and headed for a long wait. However, the drinks were great and the hospitality as expected in New Zealand. Thanks. We will pop back.!”
“Popped in for a look, and was pleasantly surprised with the service and atmosphere, even though we were the only ones here :) loved the chat with CJ, and the history of the bar. Definitely will come back to try the new menu!!!”
