“Great place to grab a delicious coffee and go for a beach walk ! Coffee blend is fantastically good and nice they multiple options including non dairy milk, such as coconut, almond, oat , soy ! Love their coffee! Don’t be put off by the long queues on the weekends and public holidays, as they are quite efficient and turnaround is usually very fast. Owners always welcome customers with smile and make feel everyone welcome.”
“Olive was absolutely tremendous, she was so kind and caring with a great energy and service she made my day would really recommend going as definitely will be thank you olive.”
“Best coffee in Christchurch! Whenever I’m back visiting Christchurch I always come here for a flatwhite and a focaccia sandwich. Delicious. Sorry I ate the food before taking a photo.”
“Absolutely love this place! Hands down the best coffee in Christchurch—maybe even the world. The team is always in great spirits and incredibly efficient at getting your coffee just right. Their baked goods are also top-notch! You can text in your order for convenience, or relax in the outdoor space, which is perfect if you’ve got a toddler in tow”
“Surrounded by beautiful greenery, I discovered a warm and welcoming space where the longblack was as smooth and rich as the atmosphere itself. The kindness of the owner made the moment even more memorable^^”
“Aside from their amazing coffee (and seasonal drinks), this is the only coffee spot that offers lactose free milk! Even bigger cafes don't do that. Imrpessive! ❤️”
“Perfect coffee I’ve ever had. Quite strong and rich but not sharp. Really tasty. I love their coffee.”
“Lovely cafe. Good selection of brunch options including vegan meals. Coffee is also very good. Perfect spot for breakfast/brunch.”

“Fantastic little spot. A really great cafe with friendly staff, good food, and bloody good coffee. They're dog friendly so take Brewster along and hope he behaves. If he does, he may even receive a treat. Woof woof!”
“Niche has been a part of our group's weekly sunrise walk for a few years. It's amazing and I can't recommend it more. The wealth of gluten free options is impressive and tasty (and I am not GF). It is not unusual to see a delightful new flavour combo for the savoury and sweet loaf-- even after a few years!!”
“Outstanding coffee! From thr moment I walked in i got tue feeling these guys know coffee and it didn't disappoint. The scone was one of the best ive had lately. 100% stopping when I return south”
“Wonderful atmosphere and totally different than most spots nearby due to the horse riding adjacent. A special place.”
“Absolutely love this little gem so underrated, has to be one of the best if not one of the only brew bar coffee focus outlets in town. You can always guarantee to relax here and sip on something new and interesting - always experimenting with different single origins. Great crew & food options too.”
“Delightful little Cafe on good street. I was quite surprised to find a Cafe in this quiet area tucked away from the main street! The iced coffee was delicious, the breakfast we had was good portioned and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the sausage and bacon as they were cooked perfectly whereas some places quite often burn these or are quite oily. The lady was very nice and served us with a smile!”
“I totally endorse the positive comments. Sarah (or SJ as I now know her) may well be the best barista I have chanced upon. She simply makes the best coffee without question. Extremely efficient. Knows my name, knows my car, knows my coffee of choice. She knows where I am in the line. I don't have to order, I simply sit down, converse with her and it's all done. It's like being Norm on Cheers (for those of that dynasty). Absolutely brilliant. I travel from Lincoln just for the friendly face, fantastic service and good banter. I am now waiting for the batch of coffee and walnut muffins to greet me as I frequent the establishment once again ..”
“I love their whole vibe. Amazing coffee, quiet inside/outside seating, and knowledgeable staff. Every interaction was friendly and helpful, I found my new favorite brew! Grabbed some beans for home too. Highly recommend!”
At Brighton Beach House, the menu stays coffee‑and‑cabinet and no‑fuss. Outdoors works well when the weather plays along. A sensible spend for the spread. There’s room for an easy weekend brunch.
“Very nice place, got a nice sausage roll and a coffee that was well made. We had a good time and will come again”
“A beautiful spot for a sweet treat and cuppa (you can even bring your dog for a special doggie friendly gelato!). Tea serving size is generous. Staff are lovely. Highly recommend.”
“Went in for a coffee, outstanding service and amazing coffee will definitely be back again!”
“Came here tonight, have been before but not recently. Service was fantastic, the waitress was very helpful and attentive. I have an egg allergy and they were very accommodating and helpful. Food was fantastic, we got 2 starters and 3 mains between us (3) and they were all very tasty. Atmosphere was nice, pretty quiet with it being a Tuesday. Highly recommend you come here and we will be back.”
“We thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu lunch here. It was like stumbling on Hansel & Gretells house in the middle of the Christchurch botanical gardens. It’s difficult to put into words how divine the gardens and ambience was. Then comes out the food which was fresh and flavoursome. I would definitely recommend this experience.”
Therapy Coffee leans into a coffee‑and‑cabinet approach without the fuss. Views add a quiet lift to the visit. There’s room for an easy weekend brunch. Plates offer plenty without weighing things down.
“A great coffee shop serving all day breakfast food. A very unique location in Avonhead. Unique environment too. Cafe food is what you expected. Nice too.”
“Often our go to spot for my family and I in the weekends. We absolutely love the food and cabinet selection. Service is always great, cannot fault it one bit. Highly recommend Black and White Wigram and will for sure be back.”
“Great coffee and scones. They have an interesting history. Friendly.”
“Amazing coffee. Andy makes a variety of different coffee for you using quality beans roasted here in CHCH. The coffee is pulled through a vintage Italian machine. Has a variety of dairy free options available. Easily one of the friendliest baristas you will come across in town! 10/10”
“I have been here a couple of times now. Great hot chocolates, and the people are so friendly. Glad to support this business.”
“Amazing coffee and friendly service. Best part is Bernard accepts crypto payments through the PIN Network which is a big bonus and amazing to see small businesses in NZ take on new innovative payment options!”
