   Had brunch with hubby this morning, ordered 2 big breakfast and cappuccino with oat milk, flat white with oat milk, the young lady was lovely and friendly, but then 2 hours later both of us had a severe diarrhoea at the same time and same symptoms . I rang restaurant , the front house lady who picked up the phone call explained a lot about it must be something we had last night, but we had different things last night , we phoned them to check the food and especially oat milk if they are opened for long and not fresh. Not satisfied with the lady on the phone’s response and customer service.

   Great area, lovely quiet cafe, delicious options in the cabinet too. The coffee is excellent, the area outside the cafe is warm and inviting too, excellent spot to bring the kids to play outside, or get some quiet work done inside.

   What a lovely place. There service was excellent and the food great as well. The staff were very attentive and the whole experience was really good. Thanks guys. OK am editing the review. Went again on Thursday the 29th May at 1:30pm and the staff were excellent but the food was not. My wife had poached eggs and this was a five star feed. I had the burger and the chips were nice. The problem with the burger is they do not fresh cook the meat Pattie. This was cold in the middle and tasted not great.It had been zapped in a microwave and not heated properly. When I am paying $28 for a burger I expect it to be fresh cooked and not reheated. Very poor food practice for the price point. They have a grill plate there but not used today. Better going to the local fish and chip shop and paying about 8 dollars for a nice cooked burger. I was going to book on First Table for an evening meal but have decided to eat elsewhere.

   Have been twice at lunchtime and have really liked it. The food is good and service is relaxed but friendly and efficient. The 4 for food was because there wasn’t much choice left in the cabinet food. I would recommend it.

   Probably just try to avoid a busy time to visit. Most of breakfast dishes we ordered were good except one of eggs in egg benny was hard boiled. Service was good when not many customers around , but got worse when busy.

   First time visiting Flax and we loved it. They were quite busy, and due to COVID social distancing had to turn a couple tables away while we were there, but i thought the front of house staff delivered the message well. Service was great, friendly and nothing was a problem. The food was good too, decent sized portions and bloody tasty. Will definitely be going back!
