   My 1st time going there and was very impressed, great service, the food was amazing, I had the chicken schnitzel and was so tender and juicy , can't wait to go back. Highly recommend this place

   What an absolute stunning Historic Pub nestled in an amazing setting within the Heathcote valley surrounded by the Port Hills. We chose the Valley Inn for the send of a loved family member in the back bar with over 60 guests, we know we definitely made the right decision. The food was superb (thank you so much to the kitchen staff), generous portions, well presented and great value for money. The level of service from the amazing Bar Manager who ensured the food was brought out at regular intervals to the friendly bar staff was second to none. Many of our guests had never been to the Valley Inn and conveyed what a beautiful pub with a great vibe, friendly locals, historical photos on the wall of the Heathcote Valley, the Well and horses tied up outside at one stage. I think it is very likely many will return. My Uncle got the send off in the best fashion possible thanks to the Valley Inns beautiful surroundings and staff. Best Pub in town cannot recommend highly enough.

   I rang and made a booking for our group to have a social gathering. They couldn’t have been kinder. It was so easy. We were asked if we wanted inside or out, high table or normal size. I ordered a platter so we could supply finger food to our group. It was amazing. We also had chips and wedges which were top class. The service was wonderful and they provided everything we needed. They continued to check on us for any further requests. I thoroughly recommend them for any occasion as there are so many sections of seating that could cater to any group. Well done Valley Inn for making our night perfect.

   Hidden gem in the beautiful valley. Fresh ingredients and great presentation. Great service too. This is a perfect lunch place for people viisting Lyttleton and the summit station. The bonus is the pleasant walk in the neighborhood.

   Our group has been before and enjoy it that is why we return. We did make a booking and were told that there was a large group booking for the time that we were booking so we followed the suggestion given and booked to arrive 15mins before. That meant that our order was taken and delivered before the large group were wanting theirs. The food is always delicious and a good portion size. We will go again.

   Requested Valley Inn Tavern for informal family gathering. Absolutely first class communication from Tavern staff throughout. We opted for a counter lunch, which offered an excellent menu with prompt and courteous service. The venue is warm, inviting, casual and full of local valley history. Thoroughly recommend the Valley Inn Tavern to all who seek a comfortable and friendly environment where service is exceptional.

   Firstly, the old well in the middle of the restaurant was pretty interesting. Secondly, tried the nachos and they were a delight! Got them plain with the awesome cheese sauce (its a yummy, runny cheese sauce, none of that grated and melted usual bits of cheese on regular nachos) and topped them up with bits of bacon! Minus one star cos they got our order wrong the first time.
