Good pub with quick service and good food, not badly priced, the worst part was finding close parking within a fair walking distance. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food.
Visit on Saturday evening around 10pm and we were the only people there but the atmosphere was still nice as the team were really friendly. Especially the girl that served us. Decent price. We were recommend to go there by our English friend as it is like exactly being back in an English pub! Great decor. They said it gets busy normally. Few people came in later and they had bar snacks and they looked great!
Popped in here for dinner and a few pints during a recent trip to Christchurch. The vibe is nice, welcoming and warm and the staff are friendly. But the key stand-out here is the food. Now id like to preface by saying I am from Lamb country in Aus. Ive had my fair share of amazing lamb, but the roast lamb here - has taken the cake for the best roast lamb I've ever had the pleasure of wolfing down, and now has me looking into Christchurch real estate. (Not really but yeah)
Called in on Saturday just after midday, first time being here. Staff super friendly and they brought out water and some treats for my dog. We Will definitely be back. Cant rate the food as we didn't have any, but it smelled nice! Atmosphere was grand, not much happening, but talking to a few other customers etc. All friendly experience.
Great place to stop have a drink & some hot food. Great staff always helpful & friendly
I don't like giving negative reviews unless I believe they're justified. Meal menu is not hugely expansive and we find a lot of the itens overly seasoned. Beer selection again not a lot to choose from compared to most pubs these days. Surroundings nice but tired. Staff friendly but not don't proactively serve if they notice a table full of empty glasses
Went for a late Mother's Day dinner and we all loved it! Was a good pub vibe, and there was live folk music as well which we loved. Food and drink were yum! It was my second time here and everyone else's first, and they're all keen to come back again soon! :)
Went there for lunch on Friday afternoon. Tommy, let me just say, you are one of the best front of house I've had the pleasure of meeting. Your service was attentive, funny, timely and always with a smile. The food, omg so delicious and filling. I had the lamb roast while my lunch date enjoyed the fish (Hapuka) n chips. We sat in the side room off the main bar. This was nice n quiet, very cute with a great view of the river. I look forward to dining again sometime in the future.
Good selection of beers for an afternoon of drinking and watching the cricket. Clean but worn outside covering. Live commentary could be heard in side but being summer outside music was fine. Inside the bar was clean and tidy. Food served was very nice. Steaks done as asked and platters with fresh deep fried selection. Toilets were clean. Friendly staff.
