“Absolutely beautiful homestay to stay in. We arrived late but it was no problem as we were given the self check in instructions. Everything there that you could possibly need. Lovely having a TV in the room too. Comfortable bed, quiet & relaxing. Fully equipped kitchen made it so easy for us to have breakfast, which of course we brought with us. Would so recommend this homestay. And we will definitely come back x thank you so much”

“Was booked into this place for the first time and omg, what a pleasant surprise. Owner operated, so attention to detail and great customer service. Rooms were perfctly clean and well serviced. Sky TV a bonus. Day 2 was super hot so had a quick dip ⁹in the salt pool. Highly recommend a swim and pool towels are provided free. Loads of parking. Close to town. Had the breakfast on my last morning and it was huge, you'd be hard pressed to beat that and the price. Well deserved 5 stars... will definitely return.”

“Absolutely wonderful people, the rooms are very clean and the cleaning staff do an excellent job. Only 1 tiny thing, We did ask them not to clean until we were leaving (2 night stay) but they came in anyway. They didn't touch any of our things apart from to make the bed that we left clean clothes strewn over. Very pleased with our stay.”

“This place is an immaculately clean sanctuary where the true hospitality and generosity of provisions make a huge difference. By far the best sleep I’ve ever had on the road. Our bed was huge! My partner is over 6ft and he loved it. The sheets are cotton and breathe well. The blankets are cozy and there are loads of plush pillows. The room was quite large and we even had a little private courtyard. I cannot overstate how incredibly clean absolutely everything is - every draw, every edge, every single corner. The staff do an outstanding job. Everything is so generous about this place - no mean corner cutting. From the conditioner to the cutlery everything is good quality and you want for nothing. The bathroom is also good - ours was wetroom style, had great shower pressure and a gorgeous spa - it was extremely well ventilated. We had a brilliant time here and would recommend it to anyone. The owners are really lovely also - thank you Jane and Hugh. Even the art on the walls is decent. The only single flaw would be there were slat blinds on the tall window by the door next to the bed which meant light comes in very easily in the morning and I like blackout curtains to sleep. Other than that - everything is outstanding at a very reasonable price.”

I might add after our stay we left for Adelaide where we stayed in a five star for a few nights. They did not have great service or comfy beds. “Superb location central in Napier with beautiful sea views enjoyed from the room or on the balcony. Great bedroom, with comfortable bed. Spacious and well equipped with homely needs and an excellent stereo system. Little touches like coffee, tea and milk. This was one of favourite places we’ve stayed at here in NZ on our travels. Bike trips out to the vineyards etc. Tourist office directly opposite the apartment”

“This backpacker has the MOST comfy bed ever. It comes with a real duvet, a proper firm pillow and a 20 cm thick mattress. The rest of the place is great, with a nice pool table in the super spacious relax area The common rooms are just a little bit chill in winter but the sphere is super warm”

“Spent 5 weeks there and was a very pleasant stay. Place has very positive vibe and feel more like a big campground with travellers from all over the world than classic hostel. Met great people here and made good memories. John, the owner, was always willing to help and provide advice, regardless time of the day. Always had variety of jobs to provide, found me one just few days after my arrival. If you are looking for something more than just accommodation this is the place you wanna stay.”

“Stayed one night. Clean tidy room. Only issue is the walls/doors arent very sound proof. Could hear the neighbour's talking outside in their car which was parked right outside my door. They weren't talking very loud but could still hear them.”

“Our dog stayed there for one day daycare between Xmas and new year. We felt lucky they can accommodate us while it was last minute booking. We waited for about 15 minutes with another dog family at the reception for them to get to us for dropping off. Our wee dog was very tired for a few days after the stay but otherwise seems fine.”
