“Great location along the esplanade and very close to the city centre. Excellent secure parking for my work van during an overnight stay. There was a large fully fenced children’s playground across the road and the scare park beyond that. There’s a lovely park further along the esplanade. The reception staff were pleasant and the room had everything I needed. A heat pump to warm the room up on a cold winters night and a large shower with complimentary soap and shampoo. The reception staff gave me a small bottle of milk for my morning coffee and they provide a kettle and French press with complimentary coffee for my early start the next day. $159 for a single beachfront room.”

“Brilliant stay for our Labrador Bailey! Very knowledgeable and take great care of her- have used them several times with the same great service. Spacious kennels, great sized run for her as well to stay in. Almost pulls our arms off with excitement to go there when we pull up, only to come home and sleep after keeping busy while there. “Most amazing Cottage - Hosts left fresh baked bread, fresh eggs and everything we needed to cook. Rooms were beautifully appointed and fireplace well stacked. The fire toasted the room up quickly and I enjoyed the bathtubs. Close to good vineyards as well. Kids played happily in the large garden and then we all went for a walk down to the river. Tom suggested we bring the kids to his farm as we left so they could collect the eggs. Quite possibly the best rental cottage in NZ.”

“Both the owners and cleaning staff were polite and friendly. While I didn’t use the pool it was clean and looked like it was well maintained. Shower pressure was good and in our room the bathroom had plenty of space. Extra pillows were in the room and our towels were replaced regularly. Top of the list for future visits to Hastings.”
