   Solid place to stay. Kind of 50's - 60's vibe to it, although updated. Park right at your entry. Stayed in room #4, which was a end unit, all units are ground level. 3 nights in mid-November 2025. Negatives: Wi-fi was a bit weaker & only working 50% of the time, Too much outside light shining in at night - particularly on the car parking side, awkward hand sanitizer dispenser instead of soap at sink, No USB ports. Positives: Easy check-in. Room was quiet, clean, & comfortable. Water was instant hot. Nice mostly full kitchen with: microwave, refrigerator, kettle, toaster, glasses, plates, & silverware. Provided Coffee & Teas (Ceylon) & hot cocoa. Silverware/ceramics were clean. TV worked well, Hand-held shower head option, Patio w/ sliding glass door, on-site Laundry is available. Check-out was easy, just leave the key in the room. Final thoughts: I liked this place. The wide layout low table space for two carry-on bags fully opened for a two person room is a "role model" system that all motels need to copy (see photo #4). Just needs some easy fixes & it will be right up there with the best.

   Manager was pretty friendly. We had room 9. Though it is tired looking the room was clean and stocked well for our stay. The bed was comfortable. Huge kitchen. The shower was a bit small. Could hear the people in the next room. The location was really handy for us. Good price. Overall Cherry Grove gave us a comfortable stay for our 2 nights

   Good location, rooms a good size. Tidy, warm and clean. Close to Havelock township. Reasonable price. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Microwave, fridge, jug and toaster in rooms.

   Excellent 3-night stay for work! Room was spotless, spacious, and exceeded expectations. The manager was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Great value for money. Plus, the peaceful atmosphere (felt like I had the place to myself mid-week!) and walking distance to Havelock North's main restaurants and bars made it the perfect choice. Highly recommend!

   I hate writing bad reviews on any business but unfortunately we have had a really bad experience with Cherry Grove. We have stayed there a few times under the previous ownership and it was amazing - great location, great communication and a friendly service. However the last (& will be the last) time we went to stay at Cherry grove we drove all the way from Auckland (With a 3month old baby)...we were running a little late so called ahead at Taupo only to be told that ‘There is no longer a booking for us and our room had been given away to corporate clients’ the new owner continued to say that ‘they were under no obligation to help us as there had been a change in ownership since our booking’. We have gone through all our phone records / emails and there had been no contact made to notify us of this change. The last communication I had was from the previous owner saying that we are 100% booked in and they look forward to seeing us. This booking was for the Elton John concert long weekend. It was such a stressful experience and the owner was quite rude about it. After numerous calls he tried to get us a room at a family memberS house which we appreciated BUT we should never of been put in that situation. To ensure you have no disrupts to your holiday plans, book elsewhere.

   Staff were so accommodating and friendly. We turned up close to midnight looking for a place to stay while my Dad was in hospital. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Loved how homely it felt!

   Craig and Lyn are very welcoming and helpful. The unit was very clean, and bed comfortable, we slept really well. I loved the blackboard on the door which listed places to eat, and places to visit. Thank you for a lovely stay, will definitely recommend and will be back, next time your way.    Had a wonderful 2 night stay this weekend. Great 2 bedroom suite. Had everything we needed with a bonus being right next to the pook. Lyn and Craig went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They organized a great pick up and drop off service to the UB40 concert that we were there for. Would highly recommend staying here. I know that I will be booking here again soon! 5 stars for me

   My adult son and I stayed here last weekend. We managed to get the last unit available (with 5 single beds and one double bed!) for just $25 extra. Many places in the area were fully booked due to the Art Deco festival in nearby Napier. I was given good directions over the phone and they are close to the main Havelock North shopping centre. Hastings was 5 minutes drive away and Napier 15-20 minutes drive. The staff/owners were friendly and the rooms were clean and tidy. A good selection of tea bags, coffee sachets, etc. including a couple of cookies. Lots of cutlery, plates, glasses, etc. and cooking facilities. A nice touch was the listing of local restaurants, etc. on the door. There was no air conditioning but two large fans helped. plus we took advantage of the swimming pool. Enjoyed playing the large sized lawn chess. My only suggestion would be investing in heat pumps (that can be set to cool) for the rooms when it is very hot in summer.
