Amazing stay. The location is very convenient, close to city centre with 5mins walk from bus station. The staff were really helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and clean. Will recommend for solo travellers too.

Location, location, location !!! Waikato riverwalk adjacent with beautifully landscaped walking path. Interim 15 minute parking while checking in w/ a covered portico. Great first impression w/ staff & eager to please. We had a scheduled checkin at 2pm yet arrived early to ask concierge style questions re: any Chinese buffets ? We were asked if we would like to check in 2 hours ahead of schedule should a room be available, yes , of course βœ… . That is excellence in guest services. And I will mention A.J./ Parking Mgmt host. He could have accepted the 40 NZD standard secure parking fee yet due to the early afternoon time frame made a reccomendation that was " Novotel guest advantegeous " , thank you and excellence is the main stream experience with everyone we came in contact with. Luggage carts , elevators , fully functional guest rooms w/ courtesy coffee, cocoa, & tea. A water pitcher can be taking to the bar area and filled complimentary although the tap water is perfectly drinkable. On site are dinner options, a bar, breakfast options, a deck overlooking the Riverfront area. Very tranquil and relaxing which is what many of us are searching for. I will add additional photo shares of the evening ambiance yet didn't hesitate in sharing what a wondrful experience we have had on the front end !

Many thanks to Angie who called prior to our stay to check our requirements and offered wonderful suggestions and help, especially for our guest who is in a wheelchair. She allocated room 201 which had everything he/we needed. We also booked the Saturday dinner at Restaurant Alma and Charlease (apologies if name misspelt) who went out of her way to allocate a table suitable for the wheelchair, even moving plants to make it more comfortable for him. The Buffet was great for both Dinner and Breakfast - and with another event coming up in Hamilton in 3 weeks, we'll be trying to confirm Novotel Tainui and Room 201 again then! Thank you team Novotel Tainui!

Clean Hotel, but a Disappointing and Overpriced Experience Review: My wife and I stayed for one night in what was supposed to be an Executive Room, and while the hotel itself is clean, modern and presents well, the actual experience was incredibly disappointing and not worth the premium price tag. The Good: The hotel's public areas are clean, modern, and look great. The Bad: β€’ Wrong Room: We were given an accessible room instead of the standard Executive Room we booked, without being told at check-in. This meant the layout was completely different and it was missing the advertised table and chairs. β€’ Useless for Work: The room's 'work desk' was completely non-functional as there wasn't a single power point nearby. This defeats the entire purpose of booking a room designed for business travellers. β€’ Terrible Sleep Quality: Our sleep was constantly disrupted by a loud, high-pitched screeching noise that continued for minutes at a time all through the night. β€’ Understaffed: We couldn't get service at the bar in the evening, nor could we get served in the restaurant the next morning because it was too busy and understaffed. We had to leave the hotel for breakfast. For $450 a night, we expected much better. We've had great stays at other Novotels, but this experience was well below the standard we've come to associate with the brand. We would not recommend it.

Check in was seamless and the upgrade was a lovely surprise. Second time we've used valet parking and it is so worth it knowing our vehicle was being garaged. Room was lovely clean and comfortable. We also ate in and the variety at the buffet dinner was great. I also received a lovely note and gift for my status changing...such a lovely touch. Thank you! The standards in Hamilton are really high.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in customer service is definitely embedded into this hotel front staff superb paid for one night parking which was $32 as parking is quite limited outside our room was spacious beds were so comfy I had a very good nights sleep the great thing about this hotel was how quiet it was bathrooms were nice plenty of pressure from the shower usual toiletries in the bathroom from shampoo condition and body lotion plenty of towels provided and bins too which was a bonus as most hotels only provide 1 in room we had 3!! We had dinner downstairs hence the 4 star rating it would have been 5 but we ordered 4x kids meal which includes a choice of juice which they didn’t get we had to ask for it and wait staff apologised we left to go back to the room then realised the kids didn’t get the desert that was meant to be included which was a shame we couldn’t be bothered going back down

Rooms were lovely but unfortunately milk supplied was off so had to request a new one. Love the whakataukī/whakatauākī on the wall in the lobby. Nice atmosphere in the bar. Unfortunately restaurant a bit overpriced. Gym facilities are basic but do the job. Great that there's a sauna!

Average room for what you pay for and expect. Used to be the best hotel to stay at in Hamilton, but since become less appealing. Only advantage is in the middle of the city. Parking is hopeless, even if you request it!

I stayed for a month! Amazing housekeeping team, breakfast was amazing. Janine from F&B was the best! (She was extremely friendly and hospitable - she deserves a raise). Don't trust the laundry service though.

Customer service was amazing to say the least, the room was good for the price. The only thing I would have to pull up is the shower didn't work properly when changing from the hand held to the overhead spouts, other than that everything was great and clean, in a very convenient location to drive to most places. Valley parking was great despite how busy they were with 2 footy teams staying there. The mall is in walking distance with a decent amount to do and eat at.
