Lovely view, comfy beds, great service. This used to be a maternity hospital, building is beautiful and has good vibes. Kids wanted to add that they LOVED the spa bath!
Stayed in the premium family room for a night. Was really nice owner is extremely kind and helpful and everything about our stay was great. Room could definitely do with a bit more general cleaning though, A bit dusty up high
The gentleman who owns it was friendly and accommodating to my tardiness. A lovely old building that seemed to have a character of its own. The room a pleasant mixture of vintage and modern. For me, personally, a charming accommodation. A suggestion: perhaps move the history of the building to its own two pages, nearer the front? If possible, some photos and a map of the building. Lean hard into the near 100 years, as that's part of what drew me to stay here.
This place is beautiful to the eyes but has cracks under the the veil of its beauty. The heating is just a wee oil heater that barely helped, the electric blankets on the bed were old and have dodgy wiring and the spa ruined our night. We planned a romantic getaway and spent an hour after relaxing in the spa mopping up the bathroom floor after a major leak issue with the spa (and with this, our clothing we took off got drenched). We noticed that this was not the first time this had happened, there was damage around floor level from previous flooding. We ended up with sore backs and in a less that desirable mood, the sleep in the beautiful but hard bed did not help this issue. In the morning we couldn't shower as we had no dry towels left. And upon explaining the incident to the owner we were told it had happened before. We were not offered a refund either in full in part, just told if we stay again we might get a discount. There is no way we will be staying again!!!!! Also note they have some "ecofriendly" regime where they don't wash your bedding for 5 days and encourage longer, they encourage reuse of your towels also. The owner was difficult to communicate with but still ok to deal with as he kept a calm demeanor. He also sent a text apologizing for our terrible stay. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with the 4 post bed and spa. Also note this room is advertised as sound proof, it is not!
Went for a days driving through the back roads of the Waikato region and decided to stay. Found this gem! Peaceful they advertise and peaceful it is! A stunning renovated maternity hospital. Beautiful views quiet and warm with helpful friendly staff and great prices. Well worth a stay for an escape. If they served breakfast it would be a five!
Great spot on the hill, old 1920's house turned into accommodation. Huntly but not the Huntly you pass through. Owner very friendly, if I stay in Huntly or around Hamilton again... will be at this place.
An amazing place to stay, so full of character. The owner was very nice. Great value for such a gem. Will definitely look forward to my next stay.
We would never stay anywhere else, the peace and tranquility that we loved ticks all the boxes for us. As far as we are concerned its our home away from home.
We loved Manor Views! It was lovely and quiet! The old hospital is sweetly made up to be very cozy. Although we only stayed one night it was very restful and we all slept super well!
