Took some friends for a birthday lunch, hotel is beautiful and was decorated for Xmas. No drinks menu available, couldn't offer Aperol Spritz, ended up with beer. Fairly basic menu but lots of choice. Food was ok, I had salmon on German rye, not much salmon at all and alot of aioli which was a shame, $24. Boys liked their burgers, pizza very dry, birthday girl only ate 2 slices. Staff friendly but very casual, denim shorts and t-shirt. Grounds are lovely, would be a good spot for a group celebration.

A fabulous historical pub. The food was good. A good variety. There didnt seem to be enough staff and the bar in the dining room seemed to be installed most of the time.

Great place I say. Nice and quiet, the pools are quintessential kiwi, 3 temperatures so something for everone, but the building has lots of history to it and gorgeous. The BLT was top draw for a lunch and we'll presented. Staff were polite and professional. 5 stars from us.

What a little treasure we have here. If you read previous reviews of this place being βrun downβ, keep in mind it is recognised as a New Zealand heritage building - expect it to be old. Itβs clean, warm, comfortable and friendly with various accommodation options to suit your needs. The golf was popular and the hot spring was authentic. There is a restaurant with a variety of food available, and bar on-site. The staff were sometimes confused on orders and payment, but overall were pleasant. The included continental breakfast was basic, but served its purpose. You can choose a cooked breakfast at extra cost. I highly recommend this destination to anybody who wants to relax in peace, or chooses to be active which cycling and hiking not far away.

A beautiful old kiwi hotel. Warm and clean. Hosts were lovely and staff friendly. Food was good old pub food and a great selection for breakfast. Pools were so relaxing and well set out. But please get rid of the plastic flowers, twinkling lights and cheap ornaments, they don't belong and cheapen the place.

We went down to the hot pools for a nice ladies day trip and WOW they are amazing. The setting is gorgeous, the pools are nice with clear water and sand bottom. The whole pool area is stunning and well done. We checked out the hotel afterwards and it looks nice and clean with old charm. The restaurant was bustling at lunch time too. We will definitely return for a weekend soon!

Stopped in to visit Kim but she was rostered off, so we will be happy to visit again. On arriving it reeks historical charm, peaceful quiet, the dog wandering around the carpark the cat lazing on the porch at the back. And the fire was welcoming inside. A nice little hidden gem that hasn't been ruined by modern day architecture.

Went for the hot springs on our journey through to Hastings. We didn't start in the hotel. You pay and get your pass in the hotel lobby. Beautifully and simply arranged and very pleasant next to the river. There are three pools although only one of them was full. Well worth it. Recommended.

Loved the well kept grounds of the campground and the cute chickens everywhere. Beautiful tree-lined walks to the hotel and natural pools. Really enjoyed our fantastic meals at a good price. Nice atmosphere in the bar. The pools were the icing on the cake- beautiful setting and the perfect temperature. This is a must to visit location whether you play golf or not!
