Stay here the night with husband and friends, in a different room, the location was perfect for what it was needed. Checking in and out was very straightforward, will.stay again giving the chance.
Great location and check in was a breeze. The room is a little dated and tired but it's spacious, comfortable & clean. The bed is a super king and very comfortable. Plenty of car parking available on site too.
Was unable to make it to the hotel, due to flooding/road closures. Called reception, to let them know of my absentee and hopefully reschedule stay for the next day. Did not have a strong greeting, not professional on the phone. Blame was put on the booking.com app. The request of a reschedule was refused. Refund was refused, once again booking.com was blamed. Not overly happy, but kept my cool. Booking.com stated to me that my request was up to the decision of the Colombo lodge. They were asked again, and all I got was a sorry sir. Quite dissatisfied and disappointed. Now I'm out of a night stay and an absolute waste of money. Complete rip off. Poor customer service and professionalism. Would not recommend the Columbo lodge
Good value. Lots of space with the two room suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was decent with a few good restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, there is construction next door to the hotel. Quite loud, but not a bother if you are an early riser and up and out. Overall, we were happy with our stay.
A decent motel with comfortable facilities and a central location. The motel overall has a slightly dated look, bit the facilities and furnishings are modern. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, decent furniture, modern bathroom with newer fittings and ample amenities, while good kitchenette and appliances. The car parking however is very tight and with a bigger vehicle it gets tough to park and take out vehicle. Location wise is pretty central. Good value for money and recommended for a short stay. Below is the detailed review: Location: The motel is ideally located with a 5 ~ 10 min drive across major attractions in the city. Access to and from airport is also straightforward. Walking to places may take slightly longer but it’s a walkable city so no issues at all. Rooms: The rooms have a nice large king size bed, with clean and comfortable mattress, pillows and sheets. The room had nice cane made chairs and a table. The closet has decent hanging space, and it also contained the iron and ironing board. Decent space to keep the luggage as well, along with a flat screen TV of smaller size. The kitchenette had plenty of crockery and kitchen ware along with a decent toaster, slightly older electric kettle, and a microwave oven. Bathroom: The bathrooms are relatively modern, with a separate shower cabin. The water pressure in the shower is not the best despite the bathroom being on the ground floor. The wash basin is also a bit small and water splashes out which is not convenient. Shower cabinet contained bath gel and shampoo only, while a small moisturizer bottle was provided in the bathroom. The hair dryer is fixed in the bathroom and is of a decent size. The towel rack is also heated. Plenty of towels were provided including hand, face, and shower size. Additional toilet paper and air freshener was also provided in the bathroom. Additional Facilities: The WIFI signal and speed was very good. The laundry has two machines and one dryer, for which the dryer was out of order, however alternate option was provided through reception. The car park has 1 spot for each room, but the parking space itself is too tight and gets difficult to park and take out the car when the lot is full. Staff: It’s managed by the owners who are an older couple and very helpful people. They made good arrangements for our late check in and also helped us with additional parking spot that was available. The cleaning staff were also very efficient and nice people.
I booked a wrong travel dates, the owner was very considerate and concerned, she reached out to me and was able to rebooked it to the right dates. very much appreciated. Great value for money, excellent location.
The place was clean and tidy, spacious room, friendly reception. We did found the road busy, parking space a bit tight if you have a double cab ute. My husband found the bed to be a bit hard.
A lovely motel on the very edge of Christchurch, walking distance into the city. The owners are lovely and the two storey apartments have everything. Great value!
We stayed here for the night upon our arrival in Christchurch. It’s located on the CBD fringe, so it’s a nice walk into the CBD if you have time, but it’s also convenient 15 minute drive from the airport, with ample parking space. Our host was lovely, warm and welcoming, and our room was spacious and clean with a really soft, comfortable bed and hot showers. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend this motel.
Room was spacious which was great as we were staying with our 7 month old son and we had lots of crawling space. On a plus note the arm chair was brilliant for breast feeding. Son also loved the spa bath and all 3 of us slept well. We also had a trailer and the owner was very accommodating allowing us to park it in a spare space.
