Dear Connie Thank you for your constructive feedback with regards to our stay at your premises on Saturday 8th November 2025. We would like to address some of your concerns regarding the broken toilet seat, our awful parking and the theft of the compendium that miraculously turned up. 1. “Broken” toilet seat - We did not use the facility before we left for our evening out in Christchurch so we were unable to report any damage at this time. We noticed that the seat was on a slight angle but did not inspect “said” toilet seat any further, thinking it just may have been loose. If this has been caused by us then we would have brought it to your attention on check out and apologised. Happy to pay for something if we are in the wrong. 2. Our parking capabilities - it is standard practice to supply one parking space to one room at most hotels/motels, however your marked/supplied car parks are very small and if we were to use the supplied car parks that were left when we checked in, our vehicle would have inhibited your other guests. You most graciously offered for us to park in the “non marked” car park in front of the garage. We actually asked you after we parked there, if this was ok and you agreed so as far as we were concerned, you were happy with my terrible car parking skills. We were very surprised to get a call from you hours later to ask us to return to your motel from our night in town to move our car. 3. Black folder theft - in most hotels/motels this is known as a compendium. We were shocked to receive a phone call within an hour of leaving your motel, to be accused of taking the “Compendium”. We have no idea why anyone would want to take this but maybe someone takes this as momento of their fantastic stay at your establishment. You did text me later to “kind of”apologise as it had been found down the side of the bed. We would also like to pass on our constructive feedback for your notes as well. Check in - you seem like a lovely happy person and that’s nice but a 25 minute check in process which included a 10 minutes in room consultation on how to turn the spa bath on is a little excessive. I have been a sales representative for the last 25 years so have stayed at hundreds of hotels/motels and never received such an intricate induction to filling and switching on a bath. You were also very vocal in telling us about the lady who had a very loud argument with her partner and left in the middle of the night, accidentally taking the room key. You happily advised us that you charged her $50 for the key until it was returned. I am sure the motel guest will be very happy with your retelling of your victorious win over the guest. Water damage - we noticed quite a bit of rotten wood where there has been obvious water damage. No doubt you have on charged this to a motel guest so you may want to address the repairs of this. It is very noticeable. Freezer - you may like to look at defrosting the freezer in the unit every once in a while as it is so iced up that guests are unable to make ice for the drinks when they are enjoying your facilities. We have noted that you have charged us $102.20 for the toilet seat which we had no idea was broken but to be fair, it’s a very small price to pay for the hours of entertainment that we will get from the retelling of the story to our friends, family and anyone that will get a laugh out of this situation. Think Toilet/Compendium Gate. Thank you for feedback and we will take on board your suggestions.

Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the city. The hosts are very friendly and Connie has a great sense of humour. If you need to stay in Christchurch put Salerno apartments at the top of your list, they are highly recommended

The staff here were super friendly and really made the stay easy. The location was convenient, with major supermarkets like PAK’nSAVE and Woolworths less than a five-minute drive away, plus plenty of good food and bar spots close by. The room was comfy, clean, and had pretty much everything I needed for my trip. Wi-Fi was reliable and parking was straightforward, which made things even better. Overall, it was a relaxed and hassle-free stay, would definitely again.

Absolutely perfect! No complaints whatsoever, and to be honest I would ignore most if not all of the negative reviews form others as they’re actually quite pathetic. The room smelled amazing the moment we walked in, clean, nicely updated. Everything you would need they had, bathroom products, kitchen utensils and a nice selection of coffees & teas. At check-in they offered free toothbrush&paste, razor and hand-made soap. As well as a couple options to purchase snacks. The lady at the office was absolutely lovely! Ran us over a couple things to remember. The road noise is not bad at all, but if you can’t handle a little noise then don’t book in the city. Parking was good, spa was nice, shower was amazing!! Be mindful of the tiled floor, can be rather slippery. Absolutely no complaints! Bed was firm and to our preference which was great. We will definitely be back. We got an upstairs unit, good view over parking lot so our car was in site, our unit was number 9 and it suited me perfectly as no one needed to walk passed it being the unit on the end.

This place is lovely. Has all the amenities you could possibly need. Our room had all kitchen essentials, microwave, kettle, french press, coffee, milk for our coffee, mini fridge, fan, iron, washing machine, drying rack for clothing, also laundry on site if you need the dryer. Spa jet tub was lovely after a very long day of traveling. Staff are very kind and helpful. Lots of comfort for a modest price!
