“We really enjoyed coming here on Sunday. Omelette beautiful with my choice of 3 filings, hearty flavorful mince + muesli with fruit. Friendly staff. Bonus was the coffee was perfect! Exactly how I like it - and I am fussy! Thank you”
“I've been looking for a proper pub that does a proper roast dinner since coming to these fair shores, and have come up fairly short to date. However, I think that has now been rectified - the Bridgman delivers both the authentic feel of a boozer (but in a classy way) as well as a damn fine Sunday roast. Everything here was brilliant, from the service, to the drinks selection, and the food was the icing on the cake. Even the much maligned cheese option was done well here and didn't cost $20 for two small bits of cheese, three crackers and some sour grapes. Would highly recommend this place, if you live anywhere near it, or a train station, come here, as it's only a short walk from Kingsland station, allowing you to build up an appetite along the way.”
“Friendly staff, always Plenty to choose from for both sweet and savory tastes. Delicious cabinet food ready to go. This place is always pretty busy, and for good reason. Tables inside and outside available with weather coverage for the damper days. Highly recommend you make the stop if you're in the area. Treat yourself!”
“Tasty Cafe & Bakery in Avondale is a popular eatery that I've often visited in the last few years. The overall impression I get is that this is a great place to buy food from or dine in with family and friends. The array of pies the bakery creates is unique and never disappoints! I went for the new Cambodian fish curry pie and hot chips and it was a great combo! The pie pastry is always on point, the curry flavour infused with lemongrass (I think) is unique and flavoursome and the hoki fish melts in your mouth! Also the hot chips were crispy and tasty! Great pie and hot chips and I'll be back again for more!”
“What a wonderful cafe. Coffee and food, both amazing. So friendly and accommodating. Thank you! Atmosphere is a great start to our day. Will definitely come again.”
“Absolutely delicious restaurant quality Punjabi food made fresh to order. Quick and courteous service and fair prices. We will definitely be back to try more from this shop. Best takeaway food I’ve tried in West Auckland.”
“Best place for breakfast outside of the cbd. Very well prepared and painstakingly detailed presentation of delicious breakfast items. A wide range to choose from. Very reasonably priced. Fantastic service and very warm, friendly staff. Pet friendly outside seating available. Clean toilets. Quite a well lit corner, tucked away in one of Auckland's oldest suburbs. Definitely recommended over any other eating establishment in Mt Albert!”
“We recently went to Goodie Brothers in Botany and had such a great time that it deserves a proper shout-out. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and lively, with a nice mix of modern décor and a relaxed, casual vibe that makes you want to stay a while. We started with the margarita pizza, which came out with a beautiful golden crust that had the perfect crunch on the outside and a soft, chewy bite inside. The tomato sauce tasted fresh and vibrant, and the mozzarella was melted evenly across the base with just the right balance of cheese and herbs so it wasn’t too heavy but still full of flavor. The fettuccine pasta followed and was just as impressive, with perfectly cooked al dente noodles coated in a creamy, well-seasoned sauce that felt indulgent without being overly rich, and the portion size was generous enough to share or enjoy on its own as a main. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the tiramisu, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night — light, airy layers of sponge soaked with just enough coffee, topped with creamy mascarpone and a dusting of cocoa that tied everything together beautifully. Alongside all this, we had a few drinks that were made well and complemented the food nicely, and throughout the evening the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was enjoying themselves. It’s clear the team takes pride in both their food and service, which really makes a difference. Goodie Brothers feels like the kind of place where you can go for a casual catch-up with friends, a relaxed date night, or even just to treat yourself to a good meal, and leave satisfied every time. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spot in Botany with great food, good drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere.”
“Exceptional quality and value for money. Staff were friendly and good was prepared fresh. I deconstructed the chicken burger, it was amazing.”
“Great, chilled out spot for a catch-up and a few brews with mates on a Saturday afternoon without having to get too dressed up…”
“The mocktail is so good! Good place, great service plus free wifi!”
“Reasonably food and drink price. Come there for the coffee few times. Staff treat friendly and gave me a loyalty coffee card. Great customer service.”
“Absolutely Beautiful Restaurant and Bar, Excellent service, spectacular view of the Park and Sky Tower. Atmosphere was superb and our Dinner was exceptional. Thank you to all the Wait Staff and the Chef for a great evening out”
“If I was just rating the Indian food, it would get 6 stars (I haven't had the non-Indian food yet, but there is a good selection). I recently moved here from the UK, and generally speaking curries in New Zealand are not as good as the UK, and my test dish - chicken Dansak is either usually not available or not good, but at Mainsail it was brilliant...best curry I have had since coming to NZ, hands down (and better than many I've had in the UK). My wife who is not a big curry eater, enjoyed her Tikka Massalla as well - they get the heat exactly as you request. There was a good choice of non Indian food as well, which we didn't sample. In terms of atmosphere, the interior of the restaurant where we have eaten both times, needs refreshing. The views are good, and with a bit of attention, it could be a great space. The main bar seemed OK, very much a bar, and the outdoor patio looked like a great place to sit when the weather is good, which it wasn't when we went. This is overall a good place, and will be somewhere we come regularly due to the location and the excellent curry. I doubt I will ever sample their non-Indian, which looks fines, because the Indian so darned good!”
“Probably the best airport meal I’ve had anywhere. It’s genuine cafe / restaurant quality. Excellent coffee, and a nice burger and smoothie too. Thanks to Cecilia for her friendly service!”
“Absolutely loved our brunch at Willow Cafe. The service was warm, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the food was just exceptional. I ordered the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and wow, it was perfect. The eggs were poached beautifully, the hollandaise was smooth and rich, and the salmon was fresh and balanced the dish so well. Everything was plated with care and looked as good as it tasted. You can tell there’s a lot of love and skill behind the food here. Definitely one of the best brunch spots around highly recommend and will be back for sure!”
“Delicious breakfast and amazing smoothies! Highly recommend and close to the airport for layovers”
“First experience and it was exactly what the name suggests. The limited interaction we had with staff were friendly and helpful. Good variety of sushi’s along with vegetarian options and deserts. Food was fresh and beautifully presented. Made for good eating and fun time.”
“Awesome food, we had the chicken stack and French toast both were well priced and super tasty. One of the best cafes on the shore. Awesome vegan and vege options and offer a discount if you bring your own cup for takeaways. Decor was slightly aged and could do with a bit of a tickle up but had a nice homely feel and staff were friendly. Will definitely be back.”
“After hearing about the unique flavors at Galaxy Pizza, I decided to visit and try it for myself. As someone who is quite particular when it comes to food, I must admit I was thoroughly impressed by the delicious pizzas. The flavors are truly one-of-a-kind, and the ingredients are spot on. With a wide variety of options, there’s something to suit every taste. As a fan of spicy food, I especially enjoyed the Tandoori and Supernova pizzas, as well as the Supernova fries. To top it off, the staff were incredibly friendly, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend Galaxy Pizza to all pizza lovers!”
“cute little local pub this was our stop from auckland to hamilton (recommended stop for road-trip) food was nice staff was really friendly they have a wide range option for whiskey and a decent option for tap beers (especially for ipa lovers)”
“We had such a great brunch here last weekend. The coffee was excellent—rich, smooth, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. Their oat-milk hot chocolate was amazing too, and the Super Avocado was definitely a standout. I also loved the café’s aesthetic, especially the fresh flowers on the tables. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.”
“The best dog-friendly cafe in Mt Eden. Great coffee, outside on the historic verandah if dining in, or delivered to the carpark by the friendly service team, along with mobile eftpos so you don't have to tie up your dog to go inside. There are free little dog biscuits on the verandah too. The staff could not be friendlier. Thank you to the Altar team.”
“I really like this Japanese restaurant! It's located in the city center, making it very convenient. My friends and I dined here and ordered some sushi and sashimi, and the flavors were amazing. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, especially the sashimi, which is simply delicious. The service is excellent, with very friendly staff, and the menu descriptions are very detailed. The restaurant's decor is also beautiful, creating a warm atmosphere. Considering the quality and taste of the food, I feel it's definitely worth the price. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant!”
“Queenies has a lovely cozy energy, staff were kind and welcoming, and the prawn spaghetti had the perfect kick for a cold winter’s afternoon. My friends and I are already planning our next brunch date there, thank you!”
“Best café with great prices for their food! I love that they use garlic pita bread, and their unique sauce-on-sauce combo really sets them apart from other kebab shops. Definitely recommend!”
“We drive past this place almost on a daily and finally had a chance to visit tonight. My wife and I had the most amazing evening at Blue Ox Babe Pukekohe. From the moment we walked in, the staff were exceptional hosts and welcoming. The food was pure magic!! Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you Blue Ox Babe.”
“It was so nice I had to go back TWICE. Could not recommend more - I’ll be back for more of their blends and that life changing HASHBROWN.”
“Little Jimmy exceeded expectations. It was pretty busy on a Saturday lunchtime but it was surprisingly quiet and comfortable. Service was friendly and extremely quick. Great menu, and the food was lovely. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and couldn't fault any aspect of it. Good wine list and excellent coffee.”
“Hey guys I can just give my feedback and my experience, so last week I went at the chicken and chips shop in Newmarket and was stunned at the packet chips was going for $8 Irritated to my purchase a went to the shop next door which happened to be a Role on Don. Now take into account that I bought the last serving of spicy pork with noodle and rice. As the shop owner was about to close the restaurant for the night, I can honestly tell you is the best value for money. I am south African born in my partner is from the Philippines. We both have decided that this is by far the best Japanese food that we've ever eaten in years since lockdown actually. The guy was friendly as anything his shop is clean and everything you see was just absolutely perfect and in its place, the atmosphere was good and the guy actually takes a step back and wants you to decide what you actually want, another than the first thing you see, as some places would. I honestly recommend you go to this place. It is funny before I left the guy did say that the spicy pork is spicy I think it was delicious and spicy super duper 100% fantastic...”
