“Really impressed by the recent planting stormwater management and board walk construction. The new bridge is really nicely designed. It's a shame they haven't completed an upgrade of the loop track which would create a longer walk but the track on the west side is in poor condition and not recommended. You can join it up with the middle section of the Hobson Bay walkway to create a longer walk.”

“Nice little park, My toddler loved the giant slide, only issue is the broken glass bottles in the play ground, dangerous for the little ones.”

“So many birds! We visited for a few hours after lunchtime and photographed many birds that were new to me. Favorites included the NZ plover, pied cormorant, and variable oystercatcher.”

“Another lovely place to do a stroll on the Waitakeres. Good family fun for about 1.25hrs return. The stroll back up though is on a gradual incline. Be patient especially with the kids. They may complain lol. Bring lots of water and energy boosters.”

“The Albany is the quintessential kiwi pub, but with next level food. I had the surf and turf on Turkish bread. The 200g scotch filet and real calamari, muscles and prawns melted in the mouth.”

“We decided to try this place after asking some diners who were just leaving if they enjoyed there food. Nice clean premises with an eclectic decor. We were seated with menus & hot Jasmine tea. So hard to choose from the beautiful pics in the menu! We ordered two types of fried dumplings, a pork dish and a beef dish. Food came out fast, nice big portions and full of flavour! “Went here to watch the black ferns . The lines for food were long, but it was moving fast thanks to the quick service and cooking of the staff here. Great grass area that little kids can play while you watch the game.”

“Pak’nSave Albany is one of the bigger branches on the North Shore, and it definitely shows. The store is spacious, fairly modern, and usually well-stocked, making it a popular choice for families and bulk shoppers. It keeps to the classic Pak’nSave model — low prices, minimal decor, and a focus on practicality over presentation — but the Albany location feels a bit more polished than some of the older ones. The layout is easy to follow, with wide aisles and clear signage, so you’re not bumping trolleys every few seconds. The shelves are usually full, especially earlier in the day, and there’s a decent range of both budget brands and the more well-known labels. Prices are, as expected, very competitive. You’ll find good specials across most departments, and if you’re shopping for a big household, it’s one of the better options to keep costs down. The fresh produce section is generally reliable. Some days the quality is top notch, other times it’s more average — pretty normal for Pak’nSave. The meat section offers good value and a decent selection, and the bakery is basic but has all the essentials. There’s also a reasonable selection of international foods, which reflects the local community well. Staff are usually friendly enough, though it’s mostly a self-service experience unless you go looking for help. Checkout times are fairly efficient, with a good number of lanes open during busy periods and a decent set of self-service checkouts for smaller shops. The carpark is big, but it does fill up, especially on weekends. That said, it’s well laid out and doesn’t feel like a fight to find a spot, even when it’s busy. Being close to other stores and amenities makes it easy to combine errands in one trip. One thing to note, like at other Pak’nSaves, is that what’s advertised online might not always match what’s in store, so it’s worth shopping with a bit of flexibility. All up, Pak’nSave Albany is a good choice if you want decent prices, a clean store, and enough space to do a full shop without feeling crammed in. It’s practical, reliable, and does exactly what you’d expect — no frills, just solid savings.”

“We had our 8-year-old's birthday at Zone Bowling on the weekend. Callie was our host and she was fantastic. She had all the kids happy and engaged the whole time. We barely had to lift a finger the entire party. 10/10 for a party venue”
