Dear Manager, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the incident that occurred at your clinic this afternoon involving my daughter. At approximately 3:00 PM, my daughter accidentally collided with a car window, resulting in a laceration to her upper lip and tongue. I promptly contacted our family doctor office to make an appointment, I knew it should be only required a brief five-minute slot. Despite the polite demeanor of the receptionist, but she didn't even want to try to ask Dr. Ho. With the clinic closing in two hours, I found it incomprehensible why Dr.Ho would not spare a mere five minutes to ensure the well-being of a child, instead insisting we seek treatment at the emergency department, necessitating a three-hour wait. Only after repeated pleas did the receptionist reluctantly agree to consult the doctor on our behalf. Rushing to the clinic, we were further waiting until 4:00 PM, which was almost 40 mins, then Dr.Ho said NO to us. Even fellow patients voiced disbelief at the lack of compassion exhibited towards a distressed six-year-old child in need of medical attention. We choose your clinic as our family doctor, because we trust you. While I am thankful our family doctor is not Dr. Ho. Is medical expertise the sole criterion for practicing medicine? It is evident that Dr. Ho lacks not only medical ethics but also basic human decency. Our trust in the clinic has been shattered. While I might understand such treatment towards an adult patient, who can handle their pain , the neglect shown towards a six-year-old child, subjecting her to almost an hour's wait at the clinic followed by an additional two and a half hours at the emergency department, is unforgivable. New Zealand prides itself on being a compassionate society, particularly towards the protection and welfare of children. What have you done to uphold these values? After enduring a harrowing three and a half-hour wait, we finally received medical treatment from the emergency doctor, who efficiently treated my daughter in 3 minutes. It is evident that what was needed was not three and a half hours of anguish but a mere three minutes of competent medical care. However, when faced with a doctor devoid of ethics, it is the innocent who suffer prolonged agony. I lament the systemic failures within the clinic and the doctor doesn't care about the patient.I can’t understand why Dr. Ho doesnβ€˜t want to spend 5 minutes checking the 5-year-old patient ,even though we begged and waited for 40 minutes in the clinic. Is she afraid of delaying her time off work? I know that doctors are a highly prestigious profession of saving lives and helping the wounded. However such a doctor is not worthy of being respected. The worst thing is that my daughter used to want to be a doctor and help people in need. Today, she changed her mind.

So bad experience with Dr. Chan. I can say I was just lucky that I am still alive! This doctor misdiagnosed my sickness(severe right side abdominal pain. Appendix perforation), kept me going to see him for 3 times in 3 weeks without an accurate diagnoses. Finally as I insisted that I need to see a specialist, he still tried to delay to do a referral. He let me wait for for four days! Until I was with such bad pain, kept calling to the clinic ask for referral and finally I had to say to the receptionist that I would go and sit in the clinic and wait for referral!! How can a medical practitioner treat a severe sick patient like this?? Now all of our family changed to another GP. We DO NOT trust this doctor.

I have never had any bad experiences with my two doctors, Dr Chan and Dr Ho have always been very kind and understanding over the years.

My mom have been with them for years. Over the last year or so, she had pain in her shoulder which has limited her movement in one of her arms. The initial advice from the GP was to prescribe her with some pain relief pills! After months of pain, mom went back but only then to get referred to acupuncture. A few month later the pain only seems to be getting worse, then only with some instances from mom, the GP finally got her to do a series of diagnostic imaging (xray, ultrasound) and found out more serious issues in her shoulder where she finally got referred to a specialist. After visit the specialist and a MRI, it was found she has torn one of the tendon in her rotator cuff. Now she needs surgery. Only if the GP were a bit more proactive....

Not surprised by all the bad reviews. I left for a humiliating experience which I am still in therapy for. The highly aggressive nurse and coward Dr Chan are to blame. They also wouldn’t transfer my medical records to my new doctor without my insurance broker getting involved.

Three terms describe this practice: inaccurate, dismissive, and humiliating. I was here until around 2010. My parents are still registered. My first major issue was being prescribed antidepressants that didn't suit me. I became suicidal. My medication was never reviewed, only increased. I had severe, long-term menstrual pains dismissed as "normal" or all in my head. They caused me so much pain I'd pass out. I missed so much school. I even lost a prospective job because I was too ill to attend my interview. Desperate for a solution, I requested depo provera, as I had read that it could help. My doctor tole me that I would gain 5 or 10kg on it. I was 48kg, so that was acceptable. I gained 35kg over a 12-18 month period. I found out recently that this is pretty common. This was also not reviewed. I raised it with my doctor twice, and each time he told me to drink a glass of water before dinner; next patient please. The reception staff announced things that I would rather have discussed in private. I don't want other patients to hear I have to take a pregnancy test because I'm a day late to get my jab. I will not skip lectures if I can go a day later. I also don't want a nurse to publicly humiliate me for requesting free access to my own medical records. I'm glad I switched to a practice that doesn't derive joy from my humiliation. My parents are still registered here. I'm trying to get at least my Mum to move to where I am, but progress is slow. She puts off seeing the doctor because she sees it as a waste of time and money. She has many issues that she should raise, but her doctor is so dismissive that she's loathe to take the time to see him. One of the worst issues has been accuracy. Dr Chan has made errors in prescribing my Dad's heart medication several times. It's lucky Dad checks each medication after he gets home. If he didn't, he wouldn't have noticed that his medication was wrong. He went back to the pharmacy to look at the prescription, and sure enough the prescription was wrong. The pharmacists didn't mess up; the doctor prescribed wrong. My Dad is a heart patient. I'd hate to see what would have happened if he hadn't noticed. I'm nervous they're going to kill him if he stays. I moved to Highland Park Medical after the nurse told me off for requesting my medical records. My new GP reviewed all my medication, and implemented a more holistic treatment plan. I am now functioning as a mentally healthy human being. I graduated with two bachelors degrees, I got a great media industry job with a decent income, I've been in a happy relationship for 2 years, and I qualified for Mensa. If I had moved over earlier, who knows what else I would have achieved in the several years I was ill. If you value your health, please do not go here. Go to Highland Park Medical, 160 meters down the road. All the staff are lovely. I think it's a little more expensive, but you definitely get value for that money.
