“I’m sorry but how have I never been here before in my 14 years living in Wellington. Such a cosy nook, blink and you’ll miss it. the last Bastian of a cheap eggs on toast in Wellington if you will. AND mayoral candidate Rob Gouldon was seated there wearing a massive ribbon like a prize- what a treat. I’ll be back a million times over”

“QT Wellington is a fantastic stay. The service is warm and genuinely friendly, especially the team at the restaurant, which makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be better — just across from Te Papa museum and right in the heart of Wellington’s vibrant waterfront. I also loved the artsy atmosphere throughout the hotel, from the lobby, the bar to the rooms, which gives the place so much character. A great choice if you want both comfort and a creative vibe.”

“Perfect location close to Cuba Street, Te Papa and the waterfront. We stayed for 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment which was great so my partner could sleep while I watched TV or was on my tablet. Great having an oven and the bonus of the washing machine. Even though we checked in late and out early and there was no one at reception at the time there was a back up which was perfect. The staff were pleasant and helpful in any dealings we had with them. Would highly reccomend.”

“I stay in Wellington a lot and I think this the best hotel I've stayed in. Everything was just perfect; the drop off and pick up area, the access to the main street, the room, the bed, the amount of milk and coffee, the shower pressure. Even the breakfast options at Sierra cafe were perfect. Will stay here from now on.”

“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”

“This has been our go to place for many years and food has always been consistent as the owners have not changed. Our favourites are the deep fried chicken wings, hainanese chicken rice, hokkien char and combination fried noodle. Owners are friendly and are always greeted with a smile. The decor is pretty simple but tidy and clean. Parking is ample however does get busy during the weekends.”

“I try vegan ramen everywhere I go, and The Ramen Shop in Wellington goes above and beyond! “I have had lunch here on a weekday, and dinner on a Friday night but early. Both times I enjoyed the plant-based food and the atmosphere of the place. For dinner I had the fajita tofu bowl (pictured) - I cannot rant enough about how good and perfectly cooked their tofu is. Verrae nice: crunchy crust and not soggy. Both times I enjoyed having quite a few options to choose my meal from, and how fresh the ingredients are. It’s also handy that this restaurant is right on the beach, and handy for parking and the bus stops. Staff have been very responsive and helpful both times, so 5 stars it is! Will be back to try the other menu options.”

“We come here a lot to play but my daughters birthday party was at Chipmunks Lyall Bay today. It was AMAZING! The recent upgrades have made the venue so awesome all the kids loved it. The food was great, the party house was great, but the best part was how friendly the staff were- it was so busy and they were still able to make sure we had everything we needed and more! They were so caring and made it such a special and easy day for us. Highly recommend Chipmunks Lyall Bay, thank you guys I am so grateful for help in making my girls day so special!”

“I visited this lovely little cafe on a daily basis while staying in Kelburn Castle. I welcomed warmly and have a problem with my request but unfortunately very unfortunate. He watches me treat them with others with the same cheerful patience and the clientele is varied. The food is excellent and the coffee superb. The best little coffee I've ever found.”
