We have always praised your establishment for its awesome food and great service, which made the experience on our last visit all the more disappointing, killing the excitement we had on arrival. From the moment we walked in with a reservation, we were ignored by staff. The issues we had were a 20-minute, multi-staff effort to resolve a simple QR code overcharge and the complete failure to process a confirmed order for a main meal and all table drinks, leaving me without dinner and four thirsty children waiting for drinks. While the free jugs of coke were appreciated, they couldn't salvage the evening. The level of service was entirely unacceptable and a stark contrast to the excellent standard we have come to expect. This last visit has regrettably led us to decide against returning. To the chefs, your food was 'chefs kiss' as always, 10/10.

Honestly this was my favourite meal across 3 weeks of being in New Zealand. We had the mussels to start and they were honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life. Huge! And the sauce was delicious, great with Chardonnay. The fish of the day was amazing. Great location in the bay, can’t fault it.

Spent at least an hour walking the quiet streets of Wellington during labour weekend to look for Sunday lunch. Stumbled on this gem of a place that’s to the strong winds. Thank you Natalie for the service and thanks chef for the outstanding delicious seafood curry and roti. Blown away by the fresh mussels and the presentation too. Thank you so much

We stumbled upon this place and was outstanding! Dee the Maitre de was so welcoming and Jess our waitress made the whole experience so much fun. The seafood chowder was devine and the fish burger was awesome. The Lemon Sherbet cocktail was perfect but the surprise was the dessert a mandarin, jaffa sundae with Cointreau. Go to the crab shack and create your own memories, we'll worth it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tried the seafood boil here and it was absolutely amazing! Service was top-notch – the crew on shift between 2.45–4.30pm (27/9) were fantastic. They even went out of their way to explain alternatives for our dietary requirements, which we honestly didn’t expect but really appreciated. The seafood boil was delicious, plenty for the two of us, and we took our time enjoying it. Highly recommend giving it a go – great food and great team!

If you're a seafood lover or simply craving an unforgettable culinary experience, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The crab dish, with its impeccable cooking and heavenly sauce, will transport you to a world of pure gastronomic pleasure. Prepare to indulge in a culinary masterpiece that will leave you with memories to savor for a lifetime. Furthermore, the staff's efficiency and professionalism were commendable. Despite the restaurant being busy, they managed to maintain a high level of service. Would certainly return on my next visit to New Zealand.

Lovely experience with our family on a sunny wellington day. We sat outside and were promptly served by the staff. I personally had the caesar salad and also the calamari. both were so fresh and very tasty. The salad had lots of toppings on it however the dressing was a little watery, the mozzarella garlic bread could have been cooked a little bit longer as it wasn't really melted or toasted. The calamari was seasoned nicely and cooked well. I had a creaming soda mocktail which was very refreshing and fruity tasting lovely. Wasnt much of an option for kids so that wasnt great. Needed a better kids menu. Everyone else said their meals were very good also. Would 100% go again.

Have been here before but a long time ago. Was really good to have afternoon brunch with my family and the mussel deal was great! Definitely recommend and will return again.

Tried 5 different dishes, and 3 were satisfying and sad to say 2 wasn't as much. Restaurant can be a little noisy, maybe due to the enclosed place. Dish 1. Softshell crab wasn't as spectacular as mentioned in other reviews to us, and the portion is way too little (3pcs) for NZ$23!!! (Not recommended) Dish 2. Seafood fettuccine. Fettuccine is overcooked and too soggy. (Not recommended) Dish 3. Shake Chowder. Flavourful and thick that's pack with lots of fresh seafood Dish 4. The 'Cheezy As' was fantastic, with just the right amount of garlic flavour and cheese goodness. Dish 5. Cajun catch of the day. Fish is fresh and decent portion. Drinks Banana spilt can't really taste the banana and totally can't taste hazelnut. Only taste the whipped cream and chocolate. Feijoa lemonade was a bottled drink but tasted nice.

Hey there Wellington foodies. If you're on the hunt for a tasty and filling meal in Wellington, I have to recommend the Crab Shack on the waterfront. And if you're looking for something extra special, you should try The Shack Stack. My dish was an absolute powerhouse of flavor. Two juicy rosemary garlic sirloin steaks that are cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The spuds are the perfect sidekick to this protein-packed dish. I must give a thumbs up to the presentation - the steaks and mushrooms are stacked on the plate and the spuds are piled up alongside. It looks almost too pretty to eat... almost. The portion size is generous and will leave you feeling satisfied and happy. Overall, I highly recommend checking out the Crab Shack and giving The Shack Stack a try. The food is amazing, the location is nice, and the interior and decor is something unique.
