“Lovely hostess, great location and wonderful accommodation.”
“My daughter and I had the pleasure to stay here for a few days and found the owners and property wonderful. I would highly recommend it to anyone. They even had to put up with our Labrador show dogs who tried their hardest to behave but did try to steal the ducks in the fountain.”
“Very cosy and the landlady is extremely friendly and helpful”
“Welcoming hosts, delicious bedding, great location...stunning views, best size teacups.... devine....will be back again in the future..”
“I had a fantastic stay at 88 Wallace Court Motel. The room was immaculately clean, and the toilets were spotless – a huge plus! All the facilities were good and fully up to the mark, making for a very comfortable and hassle-free visit. Highly recommend this motel for anyone staying in the area.”
“Great rooms. Very central location. Quiet and back from the noise of the street. Thanks for the great stay!!”
“I stayed here on a school trip for a few days, and I LOVED the venue. The owner was really really nice, and it's super close to so many places like supermarkets and places to shop. The rooms were not what I expected at all for this price - they looked like a full-on house! 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen area, living room, 2 tv's, huge wardrobe, 2 floors... it was great! The train station bur right behind my room, and they never woke me up. Weren't as loud as some people say. But if they are, earplugs can be bought from pretty much any shop, right?”
“We had such a wonderful stay at Newlands Court Motel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. They went out of their way to be helpful, which really made our time there extra special. Everything was well taken care of, and the service was above and beyond what we expected. Thank you for hosting us and making everything amazing—we truly appreciated the warmth and hospitality!”
“I only found one fault . The Wellington water was not nice to drink . Everything else was well above standard .the service was way above average .the $100 deposit was refunded in 2.5 minutes . It's a quiet place where no one makes a fuss . Extremely happy to recommend this place to single people or family's.”
“Highly recommend Aotea Lodge, the new owners are lovely and very friendly and also gave me a free room upgrade to one with a spa bath upon arrival. The room was big and clean and the bed and sheets felt very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!”
“Beautiful art deco building Room a little dated but we loved it and very comfortable. Central. Friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again”
“I get the impression that most people stay here for a night or couple of nights because of it's close proximity to the airport. We stayed for 12 nights, and it was ideal for our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful, we received complimentary drinks on arrival, a very nice touch. The rooms are dated, but clean. I personally would have preferred a smaller bathroom and then a wardrobe, but as I said previously, most people probably only book for a short stay and don't need a wardrobe. What this place lacks in style it more than makes up for in location, we had a beautiful view of the sea and went to sleep at night with the waves crashing on the beach, and in spite of it being close to the airport, the aircraft noise didn't really bother us, but maybe that's because we spent 25 years living close to a major airport. If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodation with no frills, I would highly recommend.”
“I was very surprised with global backpacker. There rooms were clean and beds were comfortable with clean sheet and duvet and pillow. There service was good. Handy location for us. Overall a very good place to stay.”
“I just wanted to say that the very kind lady who took my reservation and then later understood the jam we were in was so flexible and forgiving I just had to give her a glowing review. The next time we need accommodation in the Lower Hutt or even Wellington area, we WILL be staying here. Thank you for your generous understanding, Foreshore Motor Lodge!!!”
“Centralish accomodation with parking outside the rooms. Well equipped - had a great sleep here. Traffic noise dropped right off in the evening. Limited light in some downstairs rooms.”
“My uncle's spot is at the top camp Elsdon, regardless of the weather, my stay was excellent, thank you with love and affection.”
“we stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. Great, modern room with everything included. Very well priced, nice and clean, friendly efficient customer service from both owner and staff members, lovely big spa and swimming pool, didnt bring our children this time but would definitley next time. the photos on the website are very accurate. Give this place a go!”
“Decent sized rooms with all the right amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Bed and pillows give a good nights sleep...and a very rare spa bath in the bathroom. Located close to good food choices”
“Absolutely amazing B&B with beautiful rooms. If you're looking for a typical sterile, modern motel this isn't the place for you, but if you want something unique and cosy, here's a great value place!”
“My partner and I really enjoyed our one night stay at Microtel by Wyndham Wellington. We arrived in Wellington around 8:00 AM and caught an Uber directly to our hotel (20 min drive from airport). Front of staff was extremely lovely and offered to look after our luggage before check-in at 2:00 PM. We booked the Internal Queen Room without Windows. It was perfect size for two people, and still spacious for us to place our belongings. Bed was comfortable - got a good night rest. Service is great, staff are extremely helpful. You can order some food from the menu. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza for nibbles, which costed around $15. The hotel is approximately 20 mins walking distance to Lambton Quay and Queen Wharf. It was simple to navigate around central. Overall, 10/10 experience. Highly suggest to book here.”
“In Wellington, where hillsides climb, A peaceful night, a moment in time. Atura's embrace, a gentle stay, Washed the weary thoughts away. The king-sized bed, a starry cloud, Soft sheets of white, a tranquil shroud. Hot chocolate's warmth, a steaming cup, As morning's sun began to come up. A window's view, a quiet sight, The parliament's flag, a banner of light. St. Mary's College, standing tall, A sense of calm embracing all. The heather hummed a gentle tune, Beneath the moon, a whispered boon. A perfect pampering, soft and deep, A dreamless, undisturbed sleep. The hot shower's spray, a cleansing bliss, A tender, warm, and sweet kiss. Refreshed and ready, a brand new start, With grateful thanks in a loving heart. The sun appears, a golden smile, Across the clear sky, mile on mile. Another day, a magical gleam, A waking from a happy dream.”
“Spent 3 nights here in January 2024. Was a fantastic stay. The room was equipped with everything I needed - stove/oven, washer/dryer, large double bed, TV, wifi and view down to the Harbour. Service was great, as well as on site parking. Short walk to everything in downtown Wellington. Highly recommend for couples or singles, or traveling for work.”
“We enjoyed our stay. Had a 1 bedroom apartment which was perfect for our needs. The gym and pool are a little walk away but were superb. The staff are kind and accommodating. We were given access to our room hours before the check in time and a staff member came to our room to show us where the heater was and set it up. I am very fussy and found the lounge a little tired but the facilities overall were of a good standard.”
“Great experience. Nice room. The bed is comfortable. Instructions for getting the room key was easy and convenient.”
“I recently stayed at Nomads Capital Backpackers – Wellington and I felt truly at home. From the moment I walked in, the warm welcome I received, especially from Isabel at reception, made all the difference. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and seemed genuinely invested in making my stay comfortable. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with cozy communal areas that feel inviting, a lovely courtyard, and a fully equipped kitchen that feels like a shared living room rather than a hostel. Everything is clean, well maintained, and the vibe is relaxed yet vibrant. Best of all, it’s affordable without compromising on quality or friendliness. Whether you're arriving solo or with friends, looking to explore Wellington on a budget or just want a welcoming place to rest, this is it. I wholeheartedly recommend Nomads Capital to anyone in Wellington, or anywhere in New Zealand really, who’s searching for budget accommodation with a friendly heart, warm smiles, and a truly homey atmosphere. Thank you, especially Isabel, for making this such a memorable stay!”
“Rooms were great, good lighting and wonderful bathrooms. The elevators gave oddly charming vibes akin to crossing the threshold to the mists of silent hill.”
