Very cosy place right on Esplanade you can go for a walk. Owner very friendly & nice, good location, only 15min drive into Wellington CBD. Lots of restaurants close by, petrol station, supermarket even McDonald
No matter what you think about the rooms or location, the service / reception is extremely rude and unhelpful. We needed urgent assistance with a young child and the staff were “too busy” to help in any way.
We have stayed at better accommodation. The room was average, the service was good, and the location was good for us as we didn't want to be right in Wellington, but it was easy to get to. There were plenty of restaurants and eateries, as well as other shops in walking distance. The foreshore was just across the road for a pleasant walk.
I just wanted to say that the very kind lady who took my reservation and then later understood the jam we were in was so flexible and forgiving I just had to give her a glowing review. The next time we need accommodation in the Lower Hutt or even Wellington area, we WILL be staying here. Thank you for your generous understanding, Foreshore Motor Lodge!!!
Completely disagree with previous reviews - this place is great! Stayed in room 5 - studio queen was clean and comfortable - it was cold do we welcomed the wall heater and electric blankets. We made a last minute 8pm Saturday night booking and were warmly welcomed. Thanks :)
Nice place we had a veiw of the sea The only problem it was a very cold night and the heater in the room was useless heat pump would have been great or stronger heater
The foreshore motor lodge was a great stay for us. From our room we were able to look over wellington harbor, an amazing view. We were also right on the backdoor step of the Jackson St food strip of 60 food places as well 2 supermarkets. I would recommend the foreshore.motor lodge to anyone visiting wellington.
Dirty. Bugs (spiders, mosquitos, flys). Poor service. Not worth the money. When I asked for fly spray I was offered disinfectant. I said I don’t want to wash the bugs, I want to kill them. Then I was offered insect repellant. I demanded flyspray and was told he would have to call the manager to authorise flyspray. Just awful service and awful room.
The room was ok, bed a little uncomfortable, shower fine but towel rail broke . Coffee plunger had no handle , dangerous to use with no available replacement. Staff pretty good. A good place to explore Petone
Stayed for 4 nights, would not stayed again as there was rust on the fridge and door seal was broken so nothing was kept cold, make a terrible noise as well. Paint coming off the walls and floor. The room was suppose to be sleep 4 people but only had extra bedding for 2 people and one of the wool blankets has a big hole in it which you could put your hand through. There was also quite big stain on the duvet cover which looked like it had been there for some time. For a place and for the price you were only given freeview and that was with limited channels. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
