“I just got back from a stay at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, and wow, what a great experience! My room on the 26th level offered amazing views of the city the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. When I checked in, In my room I was welcomed with a complimentary glass bottle and some delicious chocolates, which was such a nice surprise! The room itself was super spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed? Absolutely comfy! I had some of the best sleep I've had in a while, thanks to the cozy bedding. Let’s talk breakfast! The buffet was fantastic. There was so much to choose from, but I have to give a shoutout to the chef for frying my eggs just right and whipping up an omelette that was simply delicious. It really set the tone for a great day. The staff here were friendly and helpful, always there when I needed something. Plus, the hotel is in a prime location, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, my stay at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor was fantastic. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfy and enjoyable place to stay in the city.”

“Despite our last minute booking at 9pm, it was nice to get the instructions for parking and simple directions to use the shower facilities. We got off the ferry with our motor home at 1am in the morning. And the parking was easy. Lots of spaces for motorhomes in the powered site. Nice clean shower. Everything was neat and well managed. Love it. The lady at the reception I met in the morning was friendly, helpful and nice. Thank you for all the help”

“Just wonderful! Stayed here years ago when it was the C&Q Hotel, and it was comfortable, but oh my, what an amazing hotel it is now! The rooms are gorgeous, incredibly comfortable and well appointed, lovely temperature and so quiet! They must have installed some good sound proofing, because the location is a busy street with lots of foot traffic, but absolutely silent in my room. And the restaurant (Lola Rouge) is fantastic. The whole place feels very opulent and luxurious. Can't fault a single thing. Highly recommend.”

“I stay here frequently…. So why? The single room is perfect… a classic, traditional pub hotel room. No pretending, spotlessly clean, well appointed will all the quintessentials. This property represents absolute excellent value. Furthermore, these marvellous old pubs are a what cities were once about. The bar and food is excellent too… I received a 10% discount chit that was an added bonus for my stay on all food and beverage. Thank you…. XX”

“Had a really refreshing stay at the ibis Wellington! The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. A huge highlight was the morning breakfast buffet, it was amazing and had a great variety. Definitely a solid choice for a stay in the city”

“A minor fault but the microwave was stuck on child lock so couldn't be used. Did ask for help but no feed back about it. The hot water for a shower took about 5 mins to arrive so if you turn on the hot then go make a cup of tea it's just arriving when your done. Awesome being so close to everything though.”

“For our stay it was amazing. Nice clean and tidy room, welcoming and helpful staff, great location to the CBD and events we were attending. I will note for the room we had the view wasn't the greatest, but we were there for the events not the view from the room.”

“It is a well maintained apartment in a very nice area. It is a very good place for families to stay. Pak'n save supermarket and countdown near by makes it easier to buy groceries to cook your own meal. I found the place very comfortable to stay.”

“AMAZING!! My family and i stayed here for a night in a 3 bedroom suite we were really happy with the value we received for the price we payed. The room was immaculate and really comfortable,The beds were the best was like sleeping on a cloud. The host is gorgeous and so helpful we did not have a prior booking however she was more than happy to help ....really recommend staying here you will not regret it....we will definitely be coming back soon .”

“The Sunday night roast smorgasbord is a great value quality meal in a bright open plan venue. The food delivery is fast and easy to access with large numbers of customers present. Many in our group had seconds, so plenty of quality cuts of meat including roast beef, fish and pork roast were available. The deserts were excellent as was the service. We will back for our next large party event.”

“We had a very comfortable, nice one night stay here. Grant and Jeanette were very lovely hosts. Had two cars and parking was not an issue (one of the few places in Wellington i believe!). Overall, it was an amazing stay and not to mention the place was immaculate! 5 stars without a doubt, would highly recommend to anyone considering and we look forward to returning next time!”

“Plenty of room for the kids to play around in the back yard. It's safe and inviting. The room was very warm and cozy, and the spa was divine, had everything I needed for the weekend I stayed. Staff members are helpful/friendly and the gentleman in the office made sure I/all guest were looked after. Will definately come back to stay”

“I only found one fault . The Wellington water was not nice to drink . Everything else was well above standard .the service was way above average .the $100 deposit was refunded in 2.5 minutes . It's a quiet place where no one makes a fuss . Extremely happy to recommend this place to single people or family's.”

“Was extremely satisfied with my stay at Oaks Wellington, from the moment you check-in the staff will go out of there way to help in anyway. The rooms are tastefully decorated with nice mutual colors that give that nice relaxing vibe, plenty of space to move around as well. Room has everything you need for a awesome stay, my room was large and extremely comfortable, the balcony was a good spot to relax and unwind any time of the day. The bar and restaurant is brilliant, has a wide range for the buffet breakfast which tasted fresh and well cooked. Check-in and check-out was a breeze with no issues for both. Enjoyed my stay, and will definitely be back the next time I am in Wellington. A few nights was definitely not long enough”

“I stayed here on a school trip for a few days, and I LOVED the venue. The owner was really really nice, and it's super close to so many places like supermarkets and places to shop. The rooms were not what I expected at all for this price - they looked like a full-on house! 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen area, living room, 2 tv's, huge wardrobe, 2 floors... it was great! The train station bur right behind my room, and they never woke me up. Weren't as loud as some people say. But if they are, earplugs can be bought from pretty much any shop, right?”

“Centralish accomodation with parking outside the rooms. Well equipped - had a great sleep here. Traffic noise dropped right off in the evening. Limited light in some downstairs rooms.”
