Stayed 2 nights. Good parking. Quiet even though on main road. Room needed a spruce up. Clean and well appointed though. No cooking facilities. Jug, toaster and microwave. Crockery used replaced daily. Not a very friendly welcome in reception. I was rung 3 times on the day if arrival to see what time we would be arriving. Location good. Shopping mall nearby.

Right on the main road through town, so I guess that has advantages and disadvantages. My room was dark and not recently renovated, but clean. Looks like the other rooms have more light and big sliding doors. The person at reception was unfriendly and complained about me being "early" though it was well past check-in time.

Plenty of room for the kids to play around in the back yard. It's safe and inviting. The room was very warm and cozy, and the spa was divine, had everything I needed for the weekend I stayed. Staff members are helpful/friendly and the gentleman in the office made sure I/all guest were looked after. Will definately come back to stay

Gary was most helpful and due to humidity of the rooms that we booked , we were given the deluxe room, which was very considerate. With Gary sense of humour and understanding ,I would highly recommend staying in this Motel. Very pleased with everything provided in the room.

Lovely place to stay for a family group. Family 1bed room perfect for the 4 of us (sleeps 5), it had everything we needed in the kitchenette. Excellent water pressure in the shower like a little massage. We loved the bubble spa baths! Very handy walk to the train station, close supermarket, and the fish n chip/Chinese takeaway. We enjoyed the outside seating area. Only downside was the rooms are not super soundproofed, we could hear the family upstairs pacing laps one night (the other 2nights were fine), and we were conscious of our own noise. But we always travel with earplugs so all good. Enjoyed the office manager dry sense of humour, he was always smiling, and helpful. Looking forward to coming back!

Rooms are a bit dated. Better ventilation in the bathroom would be good. Better parking options needed as there is none on the street.

Self service check-in. Room was ok, but the shower over the bath was very low, with a wide spray that meant it was hard to enjoy the shower. I am 6'3 and the shower head was nipple height for me.

Very friendly owner, due to my error with dates and within 15 mins notice he upgraded our room for us and sorted my mistake. (which was greatly appreciated). Room was very clean, supplies ample, heard only 1 train despite being opp train station. Mall and shops 5 min walk. Helpful and friendly staff. Thank you.

Very clean and tidy motel. But would appear to have some emergency housing people staying there and being disrupting at night.

Owner βGaryβ was so rude to me on the phone, we had stayed before and knew the place had a late check in kiosk, Gary phoned me at 3:15pm to ask what time we would be arriving, I said our ferry was delayed but we hoped to be there by 11pm to which he got very angry and said he would be in bed by 8:30pm and he would not be waiting for me to be checked in, I said I had been before and assumed I could use the kiosk and if it was a problem I could carry on and stay with friends in Palmerston North, to which he screamed back at me he would be charging my credit card, I said thatβs fine, then he did a 360 and said once the payment had gone through he would put the key in the kiosk. I felt like a naughty child and it really ruined my night. Please check other reviews as this seems to be a common theme. The rooms are dated but clean and central to the train but I will not be supporting this business again.
