“I can’t speak highly enough of the team at VSA Sylvia Park. My beloved cat Mac was only 3 1/2 but had an undiagnosed heart issue that caused an embolism. The team were incredible from the moment I rushed through the door. The receptionists were so kind - particularly Michael who is amazing at his job and went above and beyond. Mac was given urgent priority and rushed through for treatment. Bobbi our vet was so kind and compassionate to us, patiently explaining all options and not pressuring us. We felt very informed and though it broke our hearts to put Mac to sleep, we knew we were doing the right thing to end his suffering. Bobbi let me stay right to the end so I could comfort Mac, and even locked the door so we wouldn’t be disturbed. She is a true gem and I’ll never forget her kindness. I really appreciate that the team also organised paw prints, nose prints, and some of his fur in a bottle. Very special keepsakes. I never leave Google reviews but felt compelled to as I was blown away by the service. I know it must be such a tough job, so full credit to the team.”

“Bought "the don" chair from the domani range 8 years ago that is still going strong. They've sadly stopped selling it since. The chair is in excellent condition after all this time. Being able to pick your own material makes a huge difference. I've yet to have a chair as comfortable as this.”

“Nice park. Visitors can free to use the barbecue grill and have a party there. Easy to get there. Christchurch Metro Bus stop just on Mathers Road outside the park (bus 60).”

“This is our go to when staying in Christchurch. With young kids, they are safe because when you open your front door you are in a secure courtyard, not right into the car park. Across the street there is also an awesome playground. The rooms are large and clean. The courtyard has aplenty of space, picnic tables and a BBQ. Perfect for family groups or sports teams.”

It's a pleasant walk through a nature reserve to the city and the views from the neighbourhood are spectacular. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. “If you’re in the Sylvia Park area and looking for a great Thai meal, there’s a cozy little restaurant outside mall definitely worth a visit. It’s a small place, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in warmth and charm. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and it feels like one of those local gems that’s still somewhat under the radar. We ordered the chicken with cashew nuts and the pineapple fried rice, and both dishes were absolutely spot on. The chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly coated in a savoury, slightly sweet sauce, and the roasted cashews gave it a nice crunch. The pineapple fried rice came served in a generous portion, packed with flavour and fresh ingredients — you could really taste the balance between the sweet pineapple, fragrant rice, and subtle spices. What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the dishes are prepared with care. Prices were also very reasonable, which is always a bonus, especially considering the portion sizes and flavour. Parking in the mall, can get busy on weekends. Clean toilets and friendly staff, food can be customized as per ur needs. To top it off, they serve alcohol too — a nice touch if you’re looking to enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine with your meal. Overall, it’s a great spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after shopping or looking for a laid-back dinner. We’ll definitely be going back.”
