   It's a simple park, oldish style, but amicable, well situated and the lady at reception is very friendly and helpful. Recommended if you want to visit the area. Clean facilities. Good cooking facilities. Good laundry facilities.

   Took a bit to work the showers but everything clean and easy for our 4 motorhome group. Good laundry & kitchen facilities, well spaced parks & easy walk up the street to breaky & coffee or down the street to the pub.

   The amount of people negatively commenting about the showers obviously didn’t listen to the owners very clear instructions on how to get hot water. You turn the shower on full blast then slowly turn it back down until you get the temperature you want. My partner didn’t do it properly the first night and had a cool shower whilst I had lovely hot showers every night. You need to turn it down slowly and be patient. Great little park with great facilities and the best camp kitchen ever!! Lovely little library too. Fab location central to all good walks. If you get woken up by an air raid alarm like we did one morning its not a tsunami warning like we feared its to call the volunteer fire fighters to the station which is right by the camp ground. 10/10 would recommend!

   It’s an ok place. The drive down there on the peninsula road is stunning. The site itself is typical older NZ site. Only $24 for a powered site which was good. Bathroom was clean but cold. Maybe I got unlucky as it was wet and rainy but in general there’s not a lot in Portobello, the pub was empty, the cafe closed and 1 general store. Felt a bit bleak.

   Fair price, facilities and location. Pros- great location if visiting penguins. Microwave in kitchen, large kitchen and dining room. Cons- Bathrooms are basic and messy. Our spot was right by the road. $40 for 2 adults unpowered site, last minute online booking. Good one nighter.

   Really great place. The bird sounds were heavenly and it felt quite safe. The kitchen and lounge area is quite updated and nice tv! The bathrooms were quite clean and showers are included in the price which is always a plus. The laundry and dryer machines worked great and quite fast which was really convenient. Also amazing that there’s a delicious cafe (Cove Cafe) right down the road.

   Everyone should come here. All you can hear at night is the sea or the wind in the trees. The owner is helpful and friendly. The facilities are CLEAN. The kitchen is equipped with a huge gas cook top & oven. The dining area has plenty of room & places to charge your technology. Portobello is surrounded in white sand beaches, sea lions & places to hike & explore.

   The staff is great, the place in very good shape. The facilities are kept very clean. Awesome hot showers. Thanks, guys. The kitchen has good equipment (love the gas stoves), a nice place to hang out and chat up other travelers. All in all a great place to stay, if you're on the peninsula.

   Very friendly staff. Attentive and willing to help. Small campsite, well maintained and with a good vibe. Well equipped kitchen, clean. Toilets clean enough. Hot shower for free, but very hot. I could not adjust temperature to my liking.
