“We arrived late but still been able to get a room overnight. Stuff very helpful and lovely. The rooms are equipped with everything needed, as well the little kitchen. We can for sure recommend it.”
“Loved our room. Great water pressure and shower clean well decorated rooms. TV had all the streaming services to suit the whole family. We only stayed 1 night and it was last minute would have liked to stay longer.”
“It was a wonderful stay—highly recommended! The staff were very friendly and always quick to help whenever I had questions. I’ve never stayed at a motel that felt this comfortable and welcoming. If I ever come back for sightseeing, I’d definitely love to stay here again. Thank you so much!”
“We recently stayed here for our second work visit and were once again impressed by the friendly managers and the exceptional cleanliness. This place is clean, tidy, and quiet — just perfect! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you!”
“Was booked into this place for the first time and omg, what a pleasant surprise. Owner operated, so attention to detail and great customer service. Rooms were perfctly clean and well serviced. Sky TV a bonus. Day 2 was super hot so had a quick dip ⁹in the salt pool. Highly recommend a swim and pool towels are provided free. Loads of parking. Close to town. Had the breakfast on my last morning and it was huge, you'd be hard pressed to beat that and the price. Well deserved 5 stars... will definitely return.”
“I stayed here the 13th to the 16th of February 2024 with my son. Room 10 (2 bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet). Very comfortable and tidy. The staff were welcoming and easy to talk to. I would definitely return.”
“Very pleasant and Rainbow was very very helpful and made the stay a pleasure. Would stay there again any time.”
“Highly recommend. Conformable, clean, very nice hosts”
“Unplanned stay with short notice, the room was ideal for a family of 5. Bonus having a kitchen. Plenty of space”
“I had a pleasure of staying here for five weeks, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The ambiance of the lodge is simply outstanding—peaceful, beautifully maintained, with clean and cozy rooms that designed to make tenants feel at home. The property managers (Trudy and Eddie) are so kind. They are really helpful. And people living here are incredibly friendly, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this Morningside Lodge to anyone looking for a wonderful stay even short or long term with excellent hospitality. Hannah”
“Great conference rooms, and services. Always clean x”
“Everything is perfect during my stay! Spacious, clean, comfy bed, cooling aircond, heated water, walking distance to town.”
“We stayed for just 1 night and it was really amazing. Qi is super friendly and welcoming. The place is clean, quiet and comfortable. Bedroom had a kettle and mini fridge available for use. Slippers, toothbrush and conditioner shampoo were also included. Breakfast was delicious and right on time. Definitely worth it!”
“Having just spent the weekend at Quail Lodge with my Mum, I simply can't give it a high enough rating! Starting with the warm welcome, the kindness that hosts Sam and Hamish showed was second to none. The accommodation was superb and it felt like we'd been wrapped up in a luxurious big hug. The food was exceptional, Sam is an incredible cook and nothing was too much trouble. Everything including the beautiful location and scenery was truly a memorable and lasting experience. Hoping that we can return in the not too distant future. Thank you for having us.”
“Stayed here for work purposes and it was one of the best stays I've had in Hawke's Bay! Kate was great to work with during the booking process and made sure our group was well looked after! The house was clean, big, and modern and had everything you needed. I would definitely come back again :)”
“This is a lovely spot to stay the night after a day’s biking. The lounge is all set up to make the place feel like home. And Greg’s a cool dude.”
“Amazing stay at the lodge! The location is very close to town (5 min) and to Hobbiton (15 min). The studio was clean, comfortable and relaxing. My friend and I stayed for two nights and enjoyed all the goodies and breakfast provided daily. Mark even packed us a to go breakfast for our early departure. Everything was delicious. Mark and Glenn are great hosts and have a beautiful farm with stunning views and farm animals you can feed/pet. Highly recommended and would definitely return again. Definitely book this unique stay!”
“What an incredible find! Don't let the lack of online booking dissuade you from staying here- it's an amazing place with truly wonderful hosts. Charlotte and Stephen were so welcoming to the four of us (2 couples), from chatting about their journey to Greenhill, to sharing local recommendations, to amazing homecooked meals (definitely take them up on daily breakfast, and you have to eat dinner in at least once!). We felt very at home, and there were no shortage of spots to relax and soak in the beauty of Hawke's Bay. All guest rooms open to the front porch or the back courtyard, they're spacious and well-appointed, with modern bathrooms and homey touches. The billiard room is especially fun, as was the pool area (complete with cedar 2-person hot tub). We loved meeting all the resident animals (alpacas, mini ponies, goats, dogs, cats), but guests with animal allergies should be aware that a few of the fur babies are indoor pets. I wish we could have stayed longer, Greenhill would be the perfect place to get away from it all for an extended visit to the countryside!”
“This is a superb place, lots of outdoor area, beautiful gardens, bq area, heated pool. Luxurious beds. A roomy villa. Friendly owners. I will be back to stay again.”
“Tidy and modern self contained units, comfy furniture, cozy warm mini home away from home. Situated out of town away from hustle and bustle.”
“WOW - not only is the Lodge beautiful and relaxing, but the hosts are equally as charming. Our stay just happened to be on one of the most gorgeous days of the year, still the ambiance and views would be just as nice had the weather not been exceptional. We can't rave enough about the location...simply wonderful. What a nice way to spend a week-day. The food cooked by our host Gene, was first rate, and the friendly atmosphere added to an all-round superb mini-break. Thank you again for such a lovely visit... hope we'll be back. Claude & Taryn Auckland.”
“If you're thinking of staying here? DO! If you're thinking of eating out while you stay here? DONT! Breckenridge Lodge puts a new name to bed and breakfast. Make sure you don't miss Marcus' 5 course dinner with wine pairing. It's unbelievable! The best dinner I've had in Hawkes Bay. The attention to detail was impeccable. The flavours were exquisite. The hospitality was next level. If you ever get a chance to stay with Marcus and Ellie..do it! It will not be regretted.”
“Whilst attending my daughter's wedding celebrations, I booked three rooms, for three nights, for my family members travelling from Melbourne. I cannot speak highly enough of our hosts Frank and Jenny, who took us into and shared their home with us. The location is within walking distance of the village of Lyttleton and its services. Our hosts were attentive, friendly and supportive, but, not intrusive. Their rooms were a delight, comfortable, spacious and serviced daily, unless one signed that it was not necessary. Ensuites, heated towel racks, room heaters ensured a comfortable stay. The views over Lyttleton Harbour are breathtaking, complemented by the external open patio, complete with outdoor furniture and barbecue for guests to relax and enjoy. Complimentary cereals, yogurts, fruit, tea and coffees ensure a relaxing start to the day. Frank and Jenny are approachable, friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay and commend you to them when next you visit Christchurch or Lyttleton areas.”
“Lovely room, great dining area, lots of beautiful artwork, and nice hosts. Smallest sink ever in the room like so many other places in NZ. Nice shower though.”
“What an amazing experience we had at Kaitiaki Lodge. From the views while sitting back relaxing on the deck to the serenity of the bush walks and orchestra of the bird life, Kaitiaki was an escape worthwhile. The kitchen was a favourite to entertain from and well appointed. We will definitely be back for another stay in the near future.”
“Kathy, Grant, and Gretel are such warm and inviting hosts that you'll forget you aren't home.... that is, if you have someone at home who prepares a delicious breakfast for you while you relax! The property is gorgeous, with a blend of English garden and natural, New Zealand landscape. The location is a great balance of proximity to shopping and attractions while maintaining a private, rural feel. Highly recommend!”
“This is a wonderful place to stay, with Kendall & Greg being incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Our unit was clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious. Just what we needed after a long drive. A good option for families. We will make this place our first choice for future trips to the region.”
“Wonderful stay with great views. Robyn is a first class cook and offers great hospitality.”
“It is a great local Kiwi place. They really know how to make you feel at home. They have their own farm & vineyard. The owners are great people and know what they are doing. They are great host and will provide you with lits of Napier history.”
“We had a wonderful three day stay. The level of detail is superb - Dietske refreshed our room twice a day and Gary had the most thoughtful and exquisitely prepared meals. They had so many good recommendations for us - ranging from beachside fish and chips to high end dinners and wineries! We were delighted by it all and found the stay warm, hospitable, comfortable, and deluxe. Booking a dinner with Gary is a must - so fresh, local, and a variety of flavors and tastes! The inn itself is small (2 rooms) so it’s a best fit for people looking to engage w the hosts and learn about the local food and culture through them.”
