    Very chill and very cosy. As mentioned by everyone else Greg is a fantastic host, very accommodating. We had a bigger room at the end and it was very tastefully decorated while being exceptionally comfy. Location is as good as it gets. Will be back!

    Very nice place to stay in! Thank you very much Greg for having us and for your hospitality. Definitely puts the 'aroha' in Te Aroha (as one of the writings on the wall in the main room said as well). Great environment, very tidy and clean, and warm.     This was a perfect place to start our NZ trip. One of the “top ten one day hikes” in New Zealand brought us here. Greg is a local who is a great host and had a wonderful place. We did the Bald Spur Track just behind the lodge, but the top of Wairere Falls, a short drive south, was the highlight of our trip. Behind the lodge is the District Museum and then to the adjacent Te Aroha Mineral Spas for a long soak. Two blocks away is a small-town main street with grocery, restaurants and coffee shops. A very nice place to spend three days.
