Marty was the sensational staff member who made our experience such a great memorable event. It was nice to see some of the Wigram Airfields history being kept for generations to come.”

The wontons were perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the pork ramen was rich and comforting with a deep, savory broth, and the chicken karaage was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. “It's a great place for a swim. The people complaining that $7.40 is too much don't understand the cost of heating pools and paying employees to clean and maintain it. I grew up in a town with no indoor pool, so people in Kaiapoi don't know how lucky they are to have this sort of thing.”

The beef burger was a good size, not quite enough salt for me, but there were salt and pepper grinders on the table so it was no problem to season. We were glad our last supplies (was our last day in our camper van) which we couldn't finish off would all be put to good use, also for the animals. No wastes here, good as gold! “For those of us who come to the Bottle Store looking for $3 Strong beers I cant recommend anything better than, Hite - Extra Strong Beer, something I've only seen stocked here. Less offensively 'clear spirit' tasting than Royal Dutch, not as sweet as 8.6, a little more flavorful than Haagen and far less bitter than Carlsberg. After the Kingfisher price hike this is my go to. A perfect middle of the road Strong Beer in terms of taste and price.”

“This is as good as it gets. Really good Chinese food. Authentic Chinese and kiwi favourites as well. Nice, friendly service. Bathroom has had a major, much needed upgrade. In fact the whole place has been upgraded. We will definitely be back. From the way that the other customers (four different groups, two Chinese, two kiwi) related to the staff, you could tell that they weren't there their first time. It's a good sign when customers come back. We had the curry chicken, cha shao pork (much bigger dish than in the menu photo), Fu Yong egg (omelette thingy) and stir fried veggies. All delicious.”

“THIS bar is has come along way and is now bit of a hidden gem in Hornby. The rustic look of the bar and its layout is great. Also the prices are very, very welcoming. Makes you want to stay longer. Has a pool table too and plenty of space. Their seafood basket is too die for too. You won't be sorry visiting here!”
