“We went for dinner. The food was excellent, the staff very friendly, and the price-quality ratio was more than fair. We ate chicken tikka as an entrée, the main dishes were lamb rogan josh and chicken kadai, and the chosen breads were keema naan and onion kulcha. Everything was so delicious! “If you're craving authentic Indian flavours in Christchurch, Saffron Spice in Hornby is the place I keep coming back to,and for good reason. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of spices and a team that treats you like family. The ambience is relaxed yet vibrant, perfect for a casual dinner or a celebratory feast. What sets Saffron Spice apart? Consistency. Their biryani is a personal favourite, fragrant, generous, and packed with flavour. And if you're into heat, the vindaloo delivers a satisfying kick without overpowering the dish. Service is always prompt and friendly, with staff happy to guide you through the menu or tweak spice levels to suit your taste. It’s the kind of place where you feel looked after, not just served. Whether I’m grabbing a quick takeaway or settling in for a slow meal with friends, Saffron Spice never disappoints. It’s my go-to spot in Hornby when I want food that’s bold, comforting, and unmistakably Indian.”

“The Best Indian Dining Experience! I recently visited Roti Chai and had an absolutely phenomenal experience. This is easily a five-star review, primarily because of the incredible food and the truly outstanding service. The Indian cuisine here is nothing short of amazing. I particularly loved the Lamb Biryani—it was aromatic, perfectly spiced, and rich in flavor. The Lamb Korma was equally delicious, featuring tender meat in a wonderfully creamy and complex sauce. What truly elevated the meal was the warm and attentive service. Everything was fast, efficient, and the entire staff was super friendly. The manager, Anil, along with the rest of the team, provided the best service ever. They were genuinely attentive and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. If you're looking for delicious Indian food paired with exceptional hospitality, look no further than Roti Chai. Highly, highly recommended!”
