I have been going to Hungs takeaways for many years. One of the best Vietnamese and Chines takeaways in Christchurch.
Great place for some "noodle canteen' like food. I'm not a fan of this type of food, but this place has become one of our regular, and most visited places for take out. Well priced, and great portions. One of the only reasons we keep coming back is the affordability. Along with the consistency with food and portions per order.
Went on a Friday night so was expecting there to be a bit of a wait, which ended up being about 30min as we went in at peak rush and ordered in store a variety of dishes. Watching the two workers preparing the food was absolutely mesmerising. They were working as fast as humanly possible to get on top of the orders, amazing team work! Their portions were great and no.61 beef black bean was so delicious and tender, and the vegetables weren't overcooked. I will be going back to try out their other dishes. There were 3 chairs out to sit on while waiting and a table with 2 chairs as well.
Do not order from here! Ordered from here and was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The chicken definitely didn’t taste like chicken with a jelly like consistency, the beef was very fatty and rubbery with sauce that didn’t taste right and the fried noodles were covered in oil with raw onions. It was inedible and a waste of my money
I have always had a delicious Chinese meal here every time. Always fresh and never had to wait too long. I would definitely recommend Hung's to anyone who wants a tasty, fresh, meal. My recent experience here has changed my opinion, got lemon chicken which was like leather and no sauce that we could taste, combination fried rice was dry and chewy. Won't be going back.

Enjoyed the dishes - wide range to choose from - and I tried a fair few. Friendly service. Food cooked in good time.
We went and ordered Chinese food, we ordered Chicken Cashew, Sweet and sour pork and fried rice. My mother said this was the best Chinese food she's had around the east side of Christchurch, she had been looking for a new Chinese restaurant, she said she will be going here from now on. We will try their fish n chips next time.
Ordered 2 meals tonight. Well presented but was disappointed by the flavor and quality. Chicken chow mein was bland and flavourless, like veges had been frozen, each vege was too large. Sweet and sour pork was too large, each piece was covered in too much batter to bulk up the meal, and pineapple and veges had no flavour like it had been frozen. 2-3 star takeouts with 4 star prices. They need to improve quality and taste
