“Just love this bush walk. The longest track is 2h45m- Gibbons. Much of the bush is the same but I'd say it's well worth the walk. The caves track is not too far. Perhaps in 20 mints ,it can be completed. The end of this walk is met by 4 caves, the last of which is huge.”
“Phenomenal food at excellent prices. My favourite cafe in Orewa! The grilled chicken wrap is very delicious.”
“Eaten brunch here a couple of times. Eggs bene and avo on toast. Good both times. Has become a regular stop for a coffee and cake after a dog walk. There are 2 doors, so ordering and counter food is done in the back corner. You can then walk outside to the diner and take a seat. Makes for a nice quiet area to chat while waiting for food as no coffee machine working! Dog friendly and outside seating area for firry friends.”
“Great park for kids not sure what one of the obstacles was lol”
“This is a nice park with a great kids playground and plenty of quiet little paths. A spacious park, trees and stream, walkways, toilet, and next to soccer field connected by a beautiful bridge, easy off-street parking for visitors, all for free. Really recommend!”
“Love love love this little gem of a place on herald island, there is only one way in and one way out so it's not possible to get lost, enjoyed the walk and our dog just loves it there there's playground access for the kids as well as free bbq area so is a lovely place for a afternoon picnic”
“Excellent return walking trip on labour day from henderson with a picnic in between. Fave spot: see photo. Really enjoyed reading cute signs along the walk. Noticed the changes & loved seeing the loner black chicken doing his thing.”
“Pre Xmas dinner, brilliant staff lovely food lovely, thank you so much, we actually had overseas folks there this time most impressed. Thank you for making our Xmas, Neil and Margaret Chapman”
“Many parents bring their children to play here. Great outdoor place for children.”
“Great place do visit, wasn't expecting to find such a diverse and interesting place but a local mentioned it and I'm glad they did. If you have young kids they'd live it for the animals and there are very good coffees and food to be had in this complex. St Andrews Church also suits beautifully nestled into this stunning area. Well worth stopping.”
“First time at Sushi-Ya and have to say this is the best sushi I have had in a long time! Incredibly fresh, and the pieces are huge and loaded with fillings! Great value for money.”
“Ordered green curry with prawns and chicken cashew nut stir fry. We were so impressed with the freshness and quantity of the prawns, chicken and vegetables. What a great meal! Very happy!!!”
“We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.”
“Well if you want alone time Mills bay is the place. Quite, hardly see anyone. My best spot to relax during my off days.”
“Kawau Cruises is uncountabley the best ferry and taxi service on the Hauraki gulf. Staff are so friendly and accomodating and nothing seems to be a problem. The 10:30 mail run over to kawau island is a wonderful way to spend a day and get to see this beautiful hidden gem. If you are looking for something different to do on a beautiful day i highly recommend heading to sand spit and jumping on the mail run over to the island, stop off at some of Kawau’s special bays and enjoy a beautiful and informative cruise on the water. 5 star thanks Kawau Cruises”
“Wonderful place to learn the history of Crown Lynn pottery and to see displays of their pottery.”
“Helpful staff. Great having JP there on certain hours.”
“Great friendly service and quality made pizzas.”
“There are many marine tours departing from Auckland, but among them, I definitely recommend Explore Group New Zealand! There’s no doubt about it. As a resident of Auckland who often goes on various marine tours with my son, I never imagined there would be a tour that offers such meticulous guidance and commentary, plus a walk on Rotoroa Island, all for $155. However, while we’re used to any rough seas, even people who don’t usually get seasick might feel it on this tour. Regarding young children, it can be very dangerous for preschoolers. If you have multiple preschoolers, it’s best to reconsider the trip. My son is used to boats, so he can balance his body with the movement, and I brought a safety belt for him on board. Since it’s a long boat trip, some kids might get bored, and it’s a tough journey where strollers can’t be used and carrying children would be challenging. Just because we enjoyed it doesn’t mean I can recommend it for families with small children. This tour is suitable for children who love the sea, are used to boats, and are physically and mentally robust. If that’s the case, there’s no other company that offers such a wonderful experience at such a low cost for parents and children! For marine tours, it’s Explore Group New Zealand!”
“We to after quite a number of years. Good memories. Loved it will go again”

“Daldy Street Park is a great pocket park to meet friends for lunch, have fun with your dog, sit quietly in the sun. The birds have found the trees in this park, Love this oasis.”
“Really great scenic tranquil place, Lots of bird life, black swans”
“Really impressed by the recent planting stormwater management and board walk construction. The new bridge is really nicely designed. It's a shame they haven't completed an upgrade of the loop track which would create a longer walk but the track on the west side is in poor condition and not recommended. You can join it up with the middle section of the Hobson Bay walkway to create a longer walk.”
“Great park, awesome baseball fields. The actual park itself for kids is small. But still a great park”
“235 Portage Road Green Bay 24/7 open Toilet showers changing rooms barbecue cooking station and a lot of seats and shelter good for the dogs and birthday kids a lot of parking and 20 minutes walk from Green Bay beach to blockhouse Bay Beach a small waterfall lookout to see mangere Mountain and Waitakere Rangers”
“We had my daughters birthday party here and hired the room which worked out to be more affordable and we were able to invite more guests. We were allowed to do our own catering which made it even better and the tour guide was amazing. Even though we were late staff were great and polite and friendly. We felt right at home. the kids loved it! The parents loved it too! So worth it.”
“Literally feels like we're on a Windows wallpaper. Green everywhere. Sheeps cows and a wonderful view.”
“A great place, but come early like before 9am .... Fruits, veggies are really cheap but check and compare prices as they are surprisingly different from stall to stall !”
“Had a great night, Food was amazing, and great service, crispy Squid tentacles were delicious with a chillie sauce and the seafood Ka ta was also delicious. Will be back more often. Gigi and staff thank you for the great food.”
