Stuck at the airport and need to kill some time? Need to tick "see a kiwi bird" off your list before you leave beautiful NZ? Butterfly Creek is a good option. Their butterfly area was super pretty, the staff are friendly and kind, and if you've got a dino loving kiddo then you're in luck. It being what it is I'll give Butterfly Creek 5 stars for their location and the kiwi birds.

Kids really enjoyed it. Plenty to look at for old and young. Some of the dinosour exhibits showing age and use with small rips and marks, but still cool to look at. Would go again. Still can't get over the size of the salty crocs! Great coffee in the cafΓ© to. Rate it.

This is our 2nd time here and the first time was 8yrs ago. Some of the exhibits are quite dated but still interesting for young children. There are attractions which are still interesting for the older aged children including adults, like the animal talks/feeds, crocodile show and of course the butterfly area where you can experience the magnificent insects landing onto you. The tram ride is an add on and goes round the park twice and is lovely for kids. A great cafe and a gift shop that has lots of cool items for sale.

My Grandaughter Hayley from MELBOURNE was due for her 30th birthday, whatβs a fantastic family plan she thought? Hereβs the action! I will go to NZ and take granddad, aunty and her granddaughters to a fabulous attraction BUTTERFLY CREEK near Auckland airport! WOW! an absolutely amazing choice, friendly staff, well maintained, safety precautions adhered to by all! We hit cafe first as you do! The coffee was first class as was the food displayed or made. Train ride got you oriented to the park surroundings. That is wonderful! We had paid extra for a Meerkat encounter, stars where Kia and Otse friendly and playful no hesitation to climb on you for the mealy worms you fed them! Our animal keepers Madie and Woo who where in enclosure with us where knowledgeable informative and very nice people. The butterfly, kiwi, aquarium, baby animals dinosaurs are absolutely amazing! They have birthday party rooms as well! My advice for a fabulous educational and happy outing for discerning families is to take a trip and visit BUTTERFLY CREEK in Auckland NZ Arthur C Charlton west Auckland NZ.

My 3 yr old liked it. The farm route was more of a hit for him as he got to feed some baby animals. The Dinosaur route was also great. The water where the massive octopus is in is very dirty. The train ride is also okay for the price. Crocodile enclosure was very quiet. Reckon a bit more excitement could be amended. For entry price I'd say the price could be adjusted less as it takes a very short time to go through the entire place even while taking your time. Overall, a good experience if you want to spend little time for max experience in that time frame. Good place for visitors to the country try to hang out at while waiting for their departures.

A truly great way to waste a few hours when youβre stuck at the Auckland airport. We spent 4 hours there, which was probably about an hour too long. But they have a free shuttle from the airport, ample opportunities for fun photos and caring staff. Itβs a bit expensive for how small it is, but if the funds go toward the animals, thatβs fine with me. Definitely geared towards kids but it was still fun for two adults.

Well I read the reviews before going here and I donβt usually visit zoos/animal areas because theyβre a cruel concept. But I had seen this one had really good habitats for its animals but after visiting I disagree. Especially the aquarium, it is way too small for some of the massive fish they have. Some enclosures were nice to see such as the butterfly enclosure band the nocturnal kiwi area but a bit sad to see the others.

Butterfly Creek is an absolutely stunning and wonderful experience. The exquisite collection of butterflies is just amazing, and the way they flit about is so calming and peaceful. The park has a unique and interactive environment, which makes it perfect for both kids and adults. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they always go above and beyond to make sure visitors are having an amazing time. Overall, Butterfly Creek is a top-notch destination for anyone looking for a fun and educational experience β highly recommended!

Lots to see and do for young children. A great variety of wildlife, Farm animals, butterflies, moving dinosaurs, crocodiles, kiwi birds and lizards. Probably one of the more expensive attractions in Auckland but still a great day out.

Had an awesome time here! Heaps to do and shows to see with the animals if you choose too. The only improvement suggestion I have is to have seperate lines to enter the 'barn' and to buy the food pellets. Because there's a limit of 10 max in the barn at any time to pet the animals in there and you can only get the food pellets in the barn- we had to wait in the line no for 30mins with people waiting to go and pet the animals in there and all we wanted was some bags of food. Other than that - great day!!!
