   Total Disappointment: Construction, Closures, and Misinformation ​We visited Matakana Country Park today specifically for the advertised family activities, but it was a massive letdown. If you are coming for the pony rides, train rides, or the playground, don't bother—the playground is under construction and the rides were non-existent. ​To make matters worse, we were told a market was a 2-minute walk away we thought this market is different from Matakana Village Market; we walked there and there was absolutely nothing though they claimed its going to stay open till 5pm. Even the local shop staff seemed clueless about the park's own attractions. We tried Ninja World and the Go-Karts, but at $49 for just 10 minutes, the pricing felt exploitative for what was offered. ​Bottom line: The advertisement and hype do not match the reality. It was a wasted trip and left our kids very upset. Save your money and go elsewhere until they finish construction and fix their scheduling.

   I had high expectations because of their social media accounts but I found that there weren't enough food stalls when we visited. Nonetheless, it was still nice to visit.

   Great pony rides, but we thought we would be able to wander around. Not sure Country park is the correct term for the assortment of shops, restaurants and pastime activities.

   My kids enjoyed the park. Sad thing is the Ninja World wasnt open and looked run down. It was a nice quick stop for my kids to enjoy.

   Cool spot with lots going on. Plenty to keep everyone entertained. The farmers market was a great way to spend the morning. Plenty of parking once the raceway was opened up. Lots of local eats and drinks. Awesome nail place too. Very cool playground for the kids. Loved being able to see and say hi to the horses and ponies. Very cool train going to. Oh and action ninja world looked like a blast. We'll have to come back for that one! Awesome gift and trinkets shop and lovely art shop too.

   Lovely place, kids will enjoy different activities, Check the website before coming as they are not open all the time. There are 3 different places to eat there. There are playground, horse riding, bike riding.

   Lovely place to visit especially if you have young kids. Best to book the pony rides ahead of time. There is also a mini train ride, feeding animals, playground and cafes. Nice day out.

   Great place do visit, wasn't expecting to find such a diverse and interesting place but a local mentioned it and I'm glad they did. If you have young kids they'd live it for the animals and there are very good coffees and food to be had in this complex. St Andrews Church also suits beautifully nestled into this stunning area. Well worth stopping.
