“I had the distinct pleasure of eating at Di Vino Bistro for the first time. It was a most wonderful experience, the service was amazing, the food incredible and the price very reasonable.”
“Wanted to try Tob Coffee as heard there's always a queue. It's a busy place with a great vibe. Service is quick and efficient, and staff is very friendly. Purchased beans, Vietnamese latte and Mocha. Enjoyed the experience and great coffee. Will visit again.”
“This is a family friendly farm. We used to take kids here for the family day. It’s also the start for Watercare coastal walkway. There is a barn here plus two car parks, a shelter, toilets, BBQ spots and camping grounds. There are farm animals such as sheep, lamb and horses.”
“Very easy and quick walk from road. Waterfall is stunning and beautiful to swim in”
“Beautiful place and nice walk to get there. Waterfall itself is not so big but all nature around is Very beautiful!”
“Love this track! super fun but cardio intensive walk (HILLS). The drive is easy with sealed road access and a well-maintained carpark. Carparks can be hard to find during peak times! The toilets are fantastic, taps, flushing and even loo paper. The hike itself is generally easy to moderate, taking around 1.5 hours round trip. The main highlight is the beautiful 15-meter waterfall and the refreshing swimming hole at its base.”
“Nice quiet park in the center of Auckland. Good walking paths. Easy 30 minute walk from main shopping area. Minimal car traffic. Cute cafe next to pond.”
“It was a nice experience at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway. It was good that we arrived early, around 5:30 pm, because after that there were long queues for tickets, food stalls, and even Santa. Be really prepared for long queues, even the toilets had lines. There were lots of people lining up for food, especially the beef sausage wiener. We brought our own food but still ended up buying some because there were so many food options to choose from. The train and station were beautifully decorated with Christmas lights, both inside and outside the train, which really added to the festive atmosphere. There was also a short festive balloons display. Riding the vintage steam train and smelling the smoke and steam made the experience feel authentic and memorable.”
“Great park for smaller dogs. Relatively safe in the bowl area as you can keep a watch on them! My pup absolutely loves this park and can run around safely under supervision.”
“Absolutely beautiful spot in Auckland for the whole family, including the dog/s. Massive off leash area. Nice walking tracks and beautiful outlook. We absolutely loved our morning spent slowly making our way around the Orakei Basin. Definitely check out google/the council website before you go, though. If you're planning to do the loop walk I'd say you'd struggle with a pram due to the stairs near the Sailing Club House. Other than this, absolutely highly rate this walk. Was 10/10 for our family.”
“First time to island, wonderful setting, lovely owners & out of this world food! What a find. Wine was very good. 2021 Cab Sav was lovely with my lamb.”
“Nice little place ran by a very very friendly and polite couple. Had the tom yum soup with prawn. Price is quite cheap. Overheard the gentleman at the counter telling a customer not to rush to pick-up her takeaway order when she asked to collect during their closing time (8pm). He said they will wait for her (aww).”
“Great place to get close to the nature”
“Over looking the Huia bay, this picturesque lookout offers a breathtaking sight of the backwaters in the Waitakere region. A short yet lovely escape place from the city. Ideal to visit in the evenings with friends and family , right before sunset. Visiting this place is totally free of cost with ample parking space available. For groups visiting with toddlers and children below age of 10, it’s better to be careful and monitor while walking towards the viewing deck thought the railings are quite high.”
“A must see in Auckland, easily spent 4 hours here. Not just a war museum there are so much more than that. Free entry for working holiday, make sure bring your proof.”
“Lovely family beach. Great outdoor playground for the kids. My only critique is it could do with a few more picnic tables/benches to sit at.”
“Just lovely. Easily accessible from Auckland via the downtown to Devonport ferry with a walk over an old volcano! Great views, clear water. As much a locals spot as fir tourists. Great ice cream shop nearby. Had a fantastic last swim in New Zealand.”
“A must see if coming to Auckland, such a beautiful place to go for a trek along the different trails, or a quick dip to cool off on the hot days we have here, the waterfall is beautiful and such a nice backdrop for the family photo. Can get busy during the weekends so may have to park up the drive down and walk down, a fairly easy gradient too.”
“We went to the Billy Joel show on Saturday evening. It was absolutely superb - the quality of the musicians and singers far exceeded our expectations. The added bonus of a "supper" was a treat. This group should tour the country and beyond with this show. Great energy.”
“Awesome place to be and really nice walking track with great views”
“My family of three, which includes a 9 year old, loved this event on vacation!! Two hours was plenty to learn time be safe and try the rapids several times. Options were available for swim levels to drift downstream. Our guide, George, was amazing and persistent with the three children in our raft without being harsh. Video is purchased separately for your experiences. The changing area is large and clean.”
“My family and I loved this farm. The animals and the tractor ride. The best part was the peacock. So beautiful and fun feeding the lamas. Absolutely coming back again!”
“Amazing bike track as you can see in my pictures. They have huge bike park with various tracks for all different levels. We just tried few track for beginners for 2 hours and we loved it. Also, they have a good quality of their rental bikes.”
“Stunning regional park. Can book beach front accommodation through Auckland Regional Council”
“Great place for a scenic walk and explore the historic tunnels and learn some history. Access to a beautiful long beach, 360 degree views across Tamaki Makaurau. Native flora and fauna.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: “This was our first visit to the Howick Historical Village, and it’s been on my bucket list for years since moving to New Zealand. Tonight’s Halloween festivity finally made it happen — and what a wonderful experience it was! The atmosphere, the creativity, and the family-friendly fun made it truly special. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to enjoy all the other events and experiences the village has to offer.”
“I went to the Auckland Botanical Gardens first thing after exiting the airport on October 6. It was a good experience, very quiet early in the morning. It's entirely free and supports the local community. Some of the highlights would be the water features, the grouping of plants by ecosystem, and the main building, which hosts I spent around an hour there. That was a little short; I think the optimal amount of time is around two hours.”
“Simply spectacular! Clean toilets, lots of drinking water taps all over the walking trails and the playground. No rubbish bins on site, so I guess you gotta take your rubbish back with you. There are designated dog walk paths on leash and marked off leash areas..”
“Excellent hike, bit of a drive to get there but the views are worth it! Some notes - Parking is limited and entrance is free. Toilets by the parking area, but water is untreated. BYO snacks and rehydration. Early mornings are great however, rain and wet grass and several muddy patches will require better hiking equipment, waterproof hiking boots and even hiking gear. Watch out for slippery slopes, muddy paths and cow pies. Livestock roaming between fences and gates, please respect property boundaries, keep gates and fences closed. Farm animals generally ignore you as you pass by, and a few disgruntled cows did reluctantly trod away. Weather permitting, rainy days offer no shelter out on this hike, hot sunny days would be perfect. Not all picnic tables are clean, the ducks do kinda get around... The views are absolutely worth it. Two thumbs up!!”
“The sushi is always fresh, flavourful, and beautifully made. Service is fast, friendly, and the atmosphere feels cozy and welcoming. Definitely one of my favourite sushi spots”
