    Parrs Park

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Open

“The cricket ground is in great shape and is perfect for playing. It has two well-kept pitches that are in excellent condition, providing a smooth surface for both batting and bowling. The field is flat and the grass is evenly cut, which makes the game more enjoyable without any unexpected bounces or surprises. There’s also plenty of parking on both sides of the ground, making it easy for players and spectators to park their cars. The surrounding area is green and open, adding to the nice atmosphere of the place. Overall, it’s a great spot for cricket matches, practice sessions, or even just a casual game with friends.”

“Quite a big park/playground area with some shaded walkways. It connects to opuneke stream walk if you want to do a longer stretch- not much shade in summer on the long stretch but should be good when it’s evening or a bit cloudy. The Henderson park itself has got some good parking, walkways, picnic benches and frisbee playing facilities. You can watch piwakawa, tui here as well.”

    Kell Park

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Open

“Love this little spot for a picnic on a hot day! Kell Park has everything you need and more: plenty of shade, public toilets, ample parking and pushchair/wheelchair accessible pathways. Dogs are allowed off leash year round (although mind the free range chickens!) Albany library is just alongside so perfect to grab a book and read in the shade. There is a small playground (suitable for younger children) in the main park - or follow the pathway in either direction for a short bush walk to the big slide and flying fox (flying fox was out of order when we visited Jan 2024). For older children there isn’t a lot to do here - though the flying fox if working would be a good draw. We visit this park fairly frequently and it is never busy.”

    Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant

    ★★★★☆ 4.5

“We had the most fantastic experience at Mudbrick - I highly recommend visiting! Brooke did our tasting, she was so friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. The wine was absolutely delicious (we went for the “Waiheke Tasting” and we loved all four of the wines). We sat outside, the views were incredible across the island and Auckland in the background. The waiting staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious and so aesthetically pleasing. The foccacia was the best I’ve ever tasted!”

    Enchanted Forest Mini Golf

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Open

“This is such an awesome place! I would not have known it existed, if I had not gotten a Grab One voucher. The gentleman at the kiosk is very friendly and helpful. It is truly enchanting, with fun unexpected things to discover. There are little tucked away shaded niches, where you can take a bit of a rest. The grounds are beautifully clean, and excellently maintained. The courses are easy enough for children to enjoy, but difficult enough for adults to be a bit challenged. Great fun!”

    Oliver's Cafe

    ★★★★☆ 4.4
    Open

“We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.”
