“Delighted that they have opened in Karaka. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. I have a very serious avocado allergy and the staff was so careful, they put on new gloves took out all clean unused equipment to prepare and roll my sushi and they even cut it by hand so as not to get any avocado traces in my sushi. The staff is so friendly and helpful, can't wait to stop in again and get another salmon roll!”

“Very fresh salmon (it’s really fresh) and freshly cooked rice! Not chilled or taken from the fridge with dried rice and just defrosted fish like most of sushi makers do… Very yummy! Comparing with sushi from botany town food court, “st Perrier” from Pakuranga sushi, and “mr Lee” from Botany junction. Ps - on the photo there are Chicken Yaki Udon and Miso soup.”

We first discovered Joe’s Garage in Queenstown and instantly fell in love — the food, the layout, the vibe… everything was perfect. But the real star for us was the pancakes, which our daughter adored. For a whole year she talked about them and couldn’t wait to go back as we were from Auckland. So when we found out there was a Joe’s Garage in Silverdale, we were thrilled — even though we live all the way in Henderson, we were more than happy to make the trip. We finally arrived, excited and ready… only to learn that the famous pancakes are only served before 5pm, and we had arrived at 6:30pm. Our daughter was devastated, and honestly, so were we. But this is where the magic happened. Our wonderful server Tyra (who was also managing that evening) could see how much it meant to our daughter. We politely asked if there was any chance the chef might be able to make an exception. Instead of giving us a flat no, Tyra said, “Let me see what I can do.” She went to speak with the kitchen team, and came back with the most heartwarming news — their chef Hunter was willing to make a fresh batch of pancakes from scratch, just for our daughter. We were genuinely moved. This wasn’t standard service — this was above and beyond. Tyra’s kindness, and Hunter’s willingness to go out of his way, created a moment our family will never forget. Because of this experience, Joe’s Garage will forever have a special place in our hearts. Wherever we see a Joe’s Garage in the world, we’ll be loyal supporters — and our daughter will too. “a really good place to get your Japanese/Korean fix with reasonable price. I've tried their udon, lunchboxes and 3 flavours of donburi - not once did I regret. The food taste delicious and freshly cooked. The area might sometimes feel dodgy for those notnused to the city (a pity) but lunch hours should be fine.”

“This is the second time we've had Pizza Pesto cater for a birthday. Each time the service is above and beyond - Angela was incredibly helpful even on short notice to deliver for our event. The pizzas arrived hot and our guests all asked where we got them from! The butter chicken one was a real crowd pleaser in particular.
