My kids absolutely love the sushi and rice balls here β they taste just like the ones we had in Japan! Everything feels fresh, balanced, and authentic, not the overly-fancy βfusionβ type that changes the original flavour.
I also really enjoy their chicken salad β itβs healthy, light, and filling at the same time, which makes it perfect for a guilt-free lunch. Highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates genuine Japanese taste and good value.

lovely place, staff was very kind and friendly:) i dont usually leave reviews but the female cashier i met on saturday was so sweet and kind, definitely brightens the store atmosphere. id like to give her a shout out- she has a bright attitude and i was having a crappy day but her smile and kind attitude had me relaxed. the sushi is so delicious and a very wide variety to choose from, they also seem to be adding new sushi pieces regularly. they pay attention to customers requests and reviews and make changes accordingly too! for example last time i complained that the spoons they provide were way too small to be convenient to eat noodles, the next time i visited they had large soup spoons! another time asked for more eco friendly option than plastic containers and next time they had cardboard/paper tubs :) honestly im so impressed.
their hot food is delicious and everything seems to be served fresh, they gave me generous amounts of ginger wasabi and since im gluten free they even offered me gluten free soy sauce! amazing!! despite being very busy the staff were so friendly and engaged and the chefs made a custom sushi roll for me as well. great prices, honest place and clean, the miso soup is slightly overpriced however delicious and warms right up, sushi is fresh and the ones in the display cabinets seem made fresh too. store presentation was delightful and sushi was arranged neatly and cleanly. another time i went and ordered a small bento, and they let me change components of the dish too! with no extra charge, and when i had leftovers they were very thorough and careful in packing it up, giving me a container along with extra napkins and a paper bag. they are very considerate and attentive, overall- customer service is 100/10 food is delicious and wide range, kid friendly, respectful and kind to all, and honestly my go to place in albany mall.

the best sushi ever! me and my friend sophie come here at least twice a week. if this shop was a real person i would take it out on a date and do cool things with them. all of the workers are the nicest people ive ever met and i love matsu sushi!

Terrible food n even more terrible customer service. The meat in the rice smells OFF, this place obviously uses food beyond expiration date. Rice watever bowl looks n tastes like dog food. And the old lady at the counter-get that frown off ur face. You made my day.

I have always enjoyed the sushi from Matsu Sushi - especially the inari.
I am sad that this place has such a low score.
Today I ordered a small bento for the first time.
This is NOT small! There is so much food here! Great value!
